*Mirabel’s POV*
The floor felt exceptionally soft and comfortable today. I must have overslept because I didn’t feel any more pain, even the normally loud voices of the alpha and all the other people living in the house seemed to be muffled like they were talking in low tones and not too close to me. After a few minutes, I became sure that I was no longer in my dingy basement room, but where am I? And comfortably sleeping too? Why am I even here? What’s going on? And with this new realization, I panicked, mostly because I perceived difficulty in trying to open my eyes, my eyelids felt so heavy. I couldn’t move my limbs to get up.
