“Maya!!! Come here. It is about time. You two should exchange rings in any moment now. And when I will call you two on stage, I need to see you standing right in front of my eyes, no matter what. Do you get that? No more excuses today, okay?” Dad said in a very low voice so that I could be mentally prepared to get engaged to Xavier at last, but to me, dad’s words seemed more like some kind of warning. As if he was deliberately trying to say that I must not run away now that we have come this far.
I guess dad’s fears are obvious as well, especially today. Cause he had seen me making decisions out of impulse for so many times before and now he is afraid thinking that I might have some different idea about this engagement at the very last second as well.
