30 It had been thirty-three days since Abby had come home, eighty-two days since she’d vanished out her front door, caught in the grip of a living nightmare that had torn her family apart. Eric had been wonderful, attentive, worried, and watchful ever since she’d come home. Every night, when she woke up drenched in sweat, choking and gasping for air, he held her.
