The Birthday Party

Layla woke up to it being the morning of her birthday with a knock on the door. Please enter she replied, her mother walked in with a tray for breakfast in bed. It is nothing special just eggs, beacon, and pancakes with a side of milk and orange juice in two glasses. Thank you mom this looks so good. Anything for the birthday girl now eat up you are going to need your strength for today. After you finish then you can get up get an ice warm shower and we can start getting you ready for your big party today. Oh yea that is right the big party for my big 18th I had almost forgotten about that. Layla ate and walked downstairs to put the breakfast tray back away. Layla’s dad was at the table he looked up from his newspaper with a bit of an angry face. WHY DID YOU NOT JOIN US FOR BREAKFAST? Then his voice softened as he realized what day it is. OH sweetheart I am so sorry I had forgotten today is your birthday, I am sorry for yelling I hope you forgive me and have a happy birthday today. Layla just put on a grin gave her dad a kiss on the head and said it is ok dad. I know you have had a lot on your plate lately, I would have loved to eat breakfast with you and mom like I normally do, however mom surprised me with breakfast in bed. I will make it up to you her dad promised. It is on dad a bunch of my friends are coming over today they are going to decorate the back yard and have a DJ come over to play music. They wanted to have a ball for my birthday so we are all dressing up in nice dresses and tuxedos as well as wearing masks. I have a lot of prepping I have to get done before my friends come so I am going to go get a shower. Please try not to be to stressed out later today, with a kiss on the forehead to her father Layla walked back upstairs to her room so she could take a shower and start to get ready for the day. After Layla got out of the shower dried off and Into her beautiful ball dress she called her best friend over. Annette was dressed up as well and arrived at Layla’s place just before the hair dresser they had hired did. The two girls chatted away while the hair stylist and her team took to the girls hair. Layla’s hair was done in beautiful braids with flowers in her hair and pieces left out of her hair do to fall down her back and curl into beautiful rings that twisted around and fell back down her back and front to the middle of her back and waist. That looks so beautiful with your golden hair and blue eyes Layla replied Annette. Thank you I was hoping so and I think it complements my white dress and my feather white sparkle mask as well. It sure does Layla you will be the talk of the town with your beauty. Annette had a more simple hairdo done with just curls and her hair pulled back front to back then pinned in the back and left to fall down her back at her shoulders. Your hair looks great to Annette that hairdo looks good with your brown hair and green eyes. I think both of us girls will be the talk of the town the girls giggled. It was almost time for the ball to start and all the guests should be arriving soon, the outside was set up with a nice dance floor on the cement area. Drinks and food provided by a catering team lined the edge of the lawn and cement area. There was lots of Devine foods suck as a roast duck with potato’s and herbs, turkey roasted to a golden brown, chicken the same but flavored with butter herbs and lemon with side of rice, there was also vegetables lined up both roasted and non roasted with all sorts of dipping options. There was also salads to go along with the rest and choice of dressings some already had dressing mixed in. The drinks included but was not limited to a fruit punch fountain, a lemonade fountain, water, and a few select sodas. At the end of each table was a swan ice sculpture and of course a chocolate and cheese fountain as well. There was lights strung along the balcony as well as the awning and green leaves and flowers everywhere. This looks amazing Layla said thank you guys you did not have to go though all this trouble. It was time for the party Layla greeted all the guests as they arrived and each of their guests as well. There was a few people whom Layla did not know but that was to be expected as each person coming had their own guests as well. Layla was excited to meet Mathis and could not wait for his arrival. The party had started Layla had not seen Mathis yet but she needed to go mingle and dance as it is her party. Layla put her mask on saw a mysterious guest so she went to go ask them to dance. This mystery person also was wearing white so she was not sure if it was Mathis and she did not notice him enter or not. The music played and the mysterious guest and Layla danced she was enchanted by the guest their eyes was brown but then while dancing they changed to a shining golden brown Layla could not take her eyes off the person as they danced. All of a sudden you hear this loud Voice say get your hands off of her! The music and dancing stopped for just a moment Layla looked at her father who was accompanied by a tall handsome man it was Mathis. But if Mathis was with her father? Layla swayed around to look at the person she had been dancing with they was gone. What was that about and where did they go Layla thought. Layla then walked over to Mathis and greeted him with a bow and a hug it is so good to see you and to finally meet you in person Layla said. Mathis greeted her back by bowing to her after she did and giving her a hug back same to you and happy sweet 18th Mathis replied. Mathis was dressed in a white tuxedo with a red rye that matched the red roses and white flowers in Layla’s hair. Mathis was really tall about 6’ 4” Layla was 5’ 3” but with her heels on a bit taller. They looked great together. Mathis golden auburn eyes matched Layla’s blue eyes and he asked should we dance? Mathis and Layla danced for the remainder of the party talking and enjoying each other’s company only stopping briefly to sit down eat, and have a drink. When the party was over Layla thanked each guest for coming and said their goodbyes. Layla nor Mathis wanted the day to be over they wanted to chat some more and did not want to leave each other’s company. We have a guest room you are more then welcome to stay here instead of some hotel offered Layla and her parents. No that is alright Mathis replied I would not want to be a bother and the hotel is more then enough for me thank you. Mathis and Layla walked out to the drive way together where his vehicle was. I had a great time tonight thank you for inviting me Mathis said as he grabbed Laylas hand and keeping eye contact lightly kissed her hand good night. Layla replied with thank you kind sir I had a wonderful time tonight as well and can not wait to see you again. How about we get some breakfast tomorrow and you can show me around Mathis offered. I would love that replied Layla. Then it’s a date and we will see you tomorrow night beautiful. With that Mathis got into his vehicle and drove away. Layla went back into her home with a big sigh went to her room plopped down on her bed and lay there with a big smile for a bit. After a while she got up went to her bathroom undressed got into night outfit took her hair out brushed it and braided it for bed, took her make up off and went to sleep. That night Layla had a dream that she was being watched from outside her bedroom window, and that the figure came though the balcony doors that they opened went over to her bed a bit her neck. Layla was paralyzed with fear she could not move nor could she scream out for help. Suddenly Mathis appeared and scared the figure away. Mathis went over to Layla’s bed scooped her up lightly held her and told her it’s ok I got you princess.
