Chapter Twelve - With Love

236 Words

A servant walks down a long, opulent hallway in an Oceanside estate. He carries an ornate wooden box into the great study. There, at the red cherry desk, is seated a beautiful young lady. Behind her, in the grand two-story fireplace, burns a fire. She is wearing a stunning blue-and-emerald-green dress with fine gold inlay. The servant places the box down to her right. He bows, turns, and leaves the majestic room, quietly closing the double French doors behind him.          The beautiful young lady has long dark brown hair. Her lips are brilliant red. Her eyes shine.          From within the desk she pulls a sheet of parchment paper and lays it before herself. She sits there looking at the paper. She wipes a single tear from her eye. Her hand goes forward and picks up a feathered quill.
