Selene ran as fast as she could. The howl sounded again, and then there was a return. Her heart sank. Hoping it wasn't dinner time for the wolves, she pushed herself just a bit more. Where was she even? Why did the woods seem to go on forever? Another howl rang in her ears, this one sounded much closer. She stopped and looked around her, a large tree branch caught her eye. If she was going to die, at least she was going to fight for it.
She backed up against the largest tree she could find and stood her guard. Her breathing was jagged and loud, staying quiet was going to be hard. A growl suddenly can from her left, twigs snapping from the approaching creature.
Selene held up the stick and looked over. A large gray wolf stared at her, a growl coming from it. As it stepped closer, Selene stepped back. The tree behind her was no longer and option, and the branch was looking more like a twig now. This wolf was so much bigger than a regular wolf.
Another growl from behind her made her jump. When she turned to look an even larger black wolf was behind her. It seemed to look right past her, staring at the gray one. As it stepped forward, it still payed no mind her her. The gray wolf didn't seem to back down until more growling from behind started. The gray wolf seemed to snuff before turning and walking away. The black wolf moved in front of Selene into what seemed like a protective stance, just as the gray wolf looked back once more before sprinting off.
The growling stopped as Selene fell to her knees, the adrenaline completely worn off. The black wolf laid infront of her and stared up. The amber eyes looked so familiar, but she couldn't place them yet. As she calmed down, her breathing started to return to normal. The scent of the forest got stronger. It was familiar, it was the same thing she smelled every time that man got close to her. The eyes, that's where she saw them they matched Theos eyes. Her body melted as the wolf laid his head on her lap. It was more comforting than when Elliot held her hand. Before she realized it, Selene was petting the wolf. He was soft, and every stroke made her heart flutter. They pain, hurt, and mixed feelings she had had for days were suddenly gone. As she closed her eyes her mind led her to the happiest memory she had. It was the beach being lit up by the full moon. It was the first time she had escaped the city she grew up in just after her mom died. She finally felt free from a cage she didn't realize she was locked in.
The silence was broken by snapping twigs. Selenes eyes shot open. The sight before her got even stranger. Three men stood infront of her. They were the same ones from the hospital room. They all were now missing shirts. The oddest part was they didn't seem fazed by the fact that a wolf was laying in her lap. Elliot took a step forward. "Selene, let's get you back to the property." He said calmly. Her held out a hand for her to grab. The black wolf got up and stared before leaving. Still confused, Selene nodded and grabbed Elliots hand.

Theo followed Michael out. As they ran he started to strip his shirt off. As they entered the edge of the woods he finished taking his clothing off and threw it into a hole in a tree. Several trees around the property had 'cubbies' to hold clothing for when anyone in the pack went for a run. Several also held a few extra clothing for those who had to transform before stripping. The pack was not shy about being naked around each other, but just like any other humanoid species, it was common to be dressed.
As Theo changed his bones cracked and his skin started to rip and stretch. Black fur started to cover him. He took off running as soon as he was fully wolf. He smelled the air and listened in for Selene. He needed to get to her before she reached the edge of their territory. He already knew rogues were going to be waiting. He had heard from his scouts that they had been circling the parameters the moment she entered. They smelled her, and they wanted her. He should've made security around her stronger, but he didn't think she'd try to run. Why did she run?
Finally the scent of her hit him. He started to slow down as to not startle her, but as soon as growling started he ran faster. They weren't far enough out to to be out of their territory, so a rogue must have slipped in. That wasn't good.
"Boss." Elliot spoke in the mind link. "Please tell me you are closer than us. I sense danger."
Theo pushed harder, she wasn't much farther up. "Yeah. I need yall to surround." He didn't need to mention the rogue, by now they all knew. As soon as Selene was in view he slowed down. A growl formed from him as the rogue got closer to her. He caught a glimpse of her looking at him in fear. She had obviously never seen a wolf ever. 'Some moon goddess.' He scoffed in his head. He pushed that thought from his mind and focused on the rogue. His growl grew louder as he stepped infront of Selene. The look it gave back was loud and clear, he wasn't done here but wasn't going to fight this time. The rogue ran off into the woods.
"Need us to follow?" Bishop asked in the mind link.
"To the edge and that's it. We will put more scouts up on perimeter. He knows something." He replied back.
He heard Selene fall to the ground. He quickly turned and laid in front of her in case she collapsed again. The look she gave him was unreal. She looked like she was trying to put a puzzle together, but the pieces didn't match.
After a moment he laid his head onto her lap. He wasn't exactly sure why he had done so, as of his body did it on its own. His wolf side was betraying him. Suddenly she started to pet him. Every stroke left a trail of warmth and electricity from her touch. His whole body melted into it.
"Theo. He's off the property." Elliot was the one tp mind link him this time. "We are changing back, need us to take her back?"
"Bring her to the main estate and bring the doctor to her for a quick check up. I'll be not far behind."
As Theo heard them approach, he gently got up from her lap. Her eyes caught his and he just stared, paralyzed by them. 'So this is the moon goddess?' He thought to himself. 'Who knew she would be such a pain.' He then forced himself to step away and leave. His wolf self wanted to stay there forever and never leave her side. His human self needed to though.
After turning back to human, Theo stayed in the woods for just a bit longer before going back. Being close to Selene was starting to mess with his head. He wanted to be with Mira, or so he thought. The mate bond was supposed to be a gift from the moon goddess, but was it still a gift when your mate was the moon goddess?
