When Zach and Thea arrived at his parents' house, they found it empty. The pair grinned at one another as they exited his truck and hurried inside. They had wanted to surprise their parents by having dinner, at least partially prepared, before they arrived.
A single low woof came from Cerberus inside as Zach opened the door. Toenails clicking on the tile floors came closer as they entered. When Cerberus saw it was Zach and Thea, he lunged at Zach, knocking him to the floor and lying on him, pinning him down as he licked the man's face.
Thea laughed at the scene before her. The only parts of Zach visible under the enormous dog were his lower legs, the top of his head, and his hands. The rest was obscured by the mass of fluff who was busy kissing one of his favorite people.
