It was nearing time for lunch when they reached the small shared kitchen. Dee had excused himself for a short time to check in with Ava and her family to see if she wanted something to eat. He had returned, grinning, and informed them that Ava was hungry and wanted pizza rolls and dino nuggets for lunch. “Dee, the kitchen will make that for her.
