Dee shuddered as he stood in Ava’s room. Things had just shifted for one of the residents at the center, and it was making him question what his daughter had done. Melanie, volunteering to take flowers to Yannis, had set his teeth on edge. Now, feeling the sudden shift and that Yannis’ end would come soon had put him even more on edge. He watched as Sephi stiffened where she stood beside Ava’s bed. The pair looked at each other, knowing Melanie had done or would do something to bring Yannis to an end sooner than expected. Sephi tried to hide her displeasure about feeling the shift, but to him, it was apparent. When Melanie entered the room, her parents’ eyes fixed on her. She glanced between them and sighed. She wanted to tell her parents what had transpired but could not do it then.
