Zach and Thea arrived at Dee and Sephi’s home around noon. As they approached the house, they heard a large dog barking inside. They looked at each other, confused because nothing had been said about them getting a dog.
“They didn’t,” Zach muttered as he put his hand on the doorknob.
Thea was even more confused by his statement and asked, “They didn’t what?”
“I think that is Cerberus,” Zach said. “If it is, get ready. He loves to give kisses, and if he still has three heads, you will be soaked in seconds.”
Thea stood blinking at him as he grinned and opened the door. Zach led the way into the house, cautiously looking around. He kept Thea tucked behind him as a precaution. Cerberus was usually friendly, but coming through the portal might have made him grumpy and aggressive.
