CHAPTER ELEVEN Tara knew she should call it a night. The martini in front of her really should be her last one. She'd catch a taxi home, probably splitting it with her friends, so that wasn't an issue. But she had church in the morning. She hated going to church but her mother insisted on it. And now, even at twenty-one years of age, Tara tried too hard to please her mother. Which was weird because her mother would never approve of her staying out until after midnight to drink with friends. The thing of it was that she really wasn't drunk. She was barely even buzzed.
