"I want us to get married"
"I heard you clearly the first time, are you crazy?" I said
“I am talking of a contract marriage not a real one" he said then I busted into laughter thinking he was playing a prank on me, I looked at him, and he wasn’t laughing with me
“Don’t tell me you are serious” I asked horrified but he looked annoyed at my outburst.
“Yes I am it can benefit the two of us" I looked at him like he had grown a second head. "here I thought my life was already a mess and had enough drama."
“You must be kidding me, what could I possibly benefit from marrying you, I just met you?
My mind raced, my initial shock giving way to a mix of skepticism and curiosity. "Why me? Why would you offer something like this to a waitress in a rundown coffee shop?"
"Because I need someone who will be dedicated to this like you"
"Wait, why do you want to get married so bad" I asked
"I guess I have to tell you if we are going to do this, I need to inherit the company from my grandfather but he believes i am not capable of continuing his league.
"I don't understand how are you not able to continue his league" I ask genuinely confused.
"I had an accident when I was younger and survived with minor injuries and according to some tests performed,my chances of having kids are really low so if I am able to get married and have a child everything will be passed on to me since he isn't getting any younger.
"Ok but I don't see how I come into all this?"
"The thing is that I need to this before my half brother does with the help of my step mother which I know she plans to do. So I need to be one step ahead of them."He stated
"Look the marriage would only last for two years in which you would have a child for me and when it comes to an end you will sign off your parental rights and I will fund all your financial issues currently and whatever you need for the next five years after it ends.
"Ok I understand your problem but this is crazy, I can't imagine leaving my child, how do you plan on having the child?
"We can do it the medical way, I don't plan having any intercourse with you
"Sorry but i don't think I can do this, it's just too bizarre." I apologize
"Alright, this is my card in case you change your mind.

The day came to an end and I was time for me to head home but I couldn't get over what he said today, I got to my apartment wanting to relax after such a strange day, the moment I walked into the apartment i knew something was wrong, it was too quiet
"Mom, Ella are guys in?" I called out but no one answered and I went into my room to see it completely destroyed with everything scattered around, I quickly searched for the money i hide in my room but was gone, went into Mom's room and all her stuff is gone, walking into Ella's room and finding her on the ground
"Ella" I screamed rushing over to her but she was conscious and barely breathing , picked up my phone and called the ambulance.
The ambulance got here in no time and took Ella to hospital and rushed her into the Emergency room since she wasn't breathing well , now I could do was waiting for them to come out.
"Ella Anderson's relatives" the doctor announced
"Right here, I am her sister"
"Ok we have good news and bad news, we were able to stabilize her and control her breathing but her lungs have collapsed, it seems her lungs weren't strong before this incident
"Yes she was born with weak lungs, she's supposed to have surgery to replace them but we couldn't afford it
"Well that seems like the only option we left and we have to be quick because she's so young, I don't know how long she can stay without them
"But isn't there something you can do" I asked but he just shook his head. I break down into tears wondering where I was going to get the money since mom ran away with the money I saved up.
I ran home to see if she left anything we could use but after searching for thirty minutes found nothing, she took everything, frustrated and angry throwing my bag across the room knowing I had failed Ella. With teary eyes I began to pick up the littered apartment when I see the card Mr Blackwell gave me, it must have fallen out of my bag when I threw it.
Remembering what he offered earlier, knowing this is the only option I have left the safe Ella, picked up my phone and dialed the number waiting for him to answer.
"Hello" he said
"I am ready
"Cara?
"Yes Mr Blackwell I am ready to do whatever you want" I responded
"Woah ok that's fast I wasn't expecting you to call me so soon, but that's good we can tomorrow morning I will send you an address
"Wait I need your help please" I begged
"And what might that be?
"Can I get an advance on the money, I need it urgently please"
"What seems to be the problem to cause such urgency
"My little sister is in the hospital and needs to undergo surgery, I had some money but my mother ranaway with it" I explained
"Send me the name of the hospital and I will have everything sorted for you, then I will send you an address to meet up tomorrow."
The minute I got back to the hospital i was informed Ella was already in the operation theatre and all the bills have been covered, I have never felt more relieved when I received the news that the surgery was successful and Ella was going to live longer.
The next day rolled over and I went to the location Abel after I made sure everything was alright with Ella, he chose a fancy location for us to meet and I knew I was dressed wrong the moment I walked in and everyone looked at me like I just wrestled a lion, but I couldn't blame them I do look a little crazy
"So how is your sister feeling" He says breaking my line of thoughts
"Oh she's fine sir, thanks for asking and thanks for the help
"Well stop calling me sir but Abel since we are going to get married soon
"Alright sir, I mean Abel" I stammered
"Good, since we have settled half of your problems, we need to move fast because I don't have much time anymore
"Ok when do suggest we get started with the marital agreement" I asked bracing myself knowing this is what I signed up for.
