The following morning, after Chioma finish her morning duties at the house, she took the calabash and some clean clothes to the river, she is going to take her bath there .

When she was coming back from the river, she again saw the beggar from yesterday, sitting on the same spot as yesterday but this time there is another young beggar about his age sitting beside him, they were both eating bread.

Chioma walk up to them.

“ Good Morning, how are you today”

Chioma put down the calabash from her head.

“ oh, is the miss from yesterday, Good Morning, I am fine, thank you for yesterday ”.

“ No problem, I am happy that I can help, do you guys need water?” Chioma asked.

“ thank you miss, I was about to beg Ayo to help me fetch some but since you ask I wouldn't be polite ”. Emeka lied with his eye open.

Ayo eye twitst, he pretend to be deaf because he don't want to be the witness of the lying prince.

Chioma fetch water from the calabash and gave them, after chatting with them a little, chioma left, she still have many things to do at home, if she is late like yesterday, she would be beaten again.

“ prince, I don't know that you can lie like this” Ayo said, he look at the man beside him, who was still looking at the direction Chioma went.

“ you will do anything to go a bride, a single purk like you won't understand and will never understand ”. Emeka mock him.

“ prince, is it just me or the miss is walking weirdly today, and there is a wound mark on her neck” Ayo said, he is a royal guard and he is very observant.

“ maybe she fell when working, what a hardworking girl, if I marry her I wouldn't let her stress herself ”.

Emeka said, he also noticed her walking weirdly but they are not very close he can't ask what happened, his mind did not think much from his investigation with the villagers yesterday, he heard that Chioma stepmother and sisters treats her very well but it still pain him to see her working so hard at such a young age, at this age many ladies will be busy caring about their looks.

Two months later, Chioma and Emeka drew closer during this passing months, they began to call each other their names and go out to the farm to play, even if Emeka could not walk with the help of the wooden wheelchair Chioma made for him, they could move around, this continue and they fell in love with each other and sometimes Chioma would give Emeka her portion of food without letting him know that she will have to starve to sleep, they made the open farm close to the chioma's family farm their meeting spot, But this ended when Chisom one of Chioma step sister saw their two together and report to her mother.

That day, early in the morning, Chioma woke up and did the morning duties as usual, she did not have many things to do today, she made an appointment with Emeka and the third wheel Ayo to go to the farm tomorrow and help her harvest corns.

After finishing her work at home, she went to the farm, Emeka and Ayo are already there waiting for her, she walked up to them and bend down to Emeka, who was sitting on the wheelchair, even if she thinks that they dated too quickly but every moment she spent with Emeka make her feel and believe that she could survive this hardship.

What she did not know is that Chisom was following her, Chisom has always been the mouth of the village, she always gossip and talk about people's business, when she saw how happy Chioma is, in this past two months, she began to suspect that something suspicious is going on, so today when she saw Chioma going out, she quickly followed her, indeed her suspicious were right, she run back home and told her mother what she saw.
