Vanessa woke up the next morning feeling numb. Somehow she knew that Hunter and the Elders completed the task, and she no longer existed in the mortal world. Even though she had accepted it, it still hurt. And she knew it would probably hurt for a while.
“Hi sweetie, how are you doing?” Vanessa looked over to the side and saw Caleb lying next to her. He had rolled over to his side, his hair rumpled from sleep, his eyes showing compassion and concern.
