Caleb wasn’t sure how long he sat on the floor of his room, breathing in Vanessa’s scent. It could have been just minutes or hours. Somewhere in the back of his head he knew he had to get up, move, and make a plan. He was not helping Vanessa by wallowing in self-pity and despair.  He tried to comfort himself in the fact that he knew she was alive.
