As Anna and Laim approached Alex, Anna’s heart racing with anticipation, Alex looked up from his phone, a hint of curiosity in his eyes. “Hey, Anna. What’s going on?” Alex asked, his voice calm and collected. Anna’s eyes narrow, her voice firm. “We know it’s you, Alex. We’ve seen the evidence.” Alex raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips.” Evidence? I have no idea what you are talking about Liam stepped forward; his eyes locked in on Alex’s. “don’t play dumb, Alex. We know about the ring, the messages, the break-ins. It’s over”. Anna’s eyes flashed with anger, but Alex’s calm demeanour threw her off balance. She wasn’t sure of what to make of his reaction. “Let’s just go,” Anna said to Liam, her voice low. “We’ll figure it our next move”. As they turned to leave, Alex called out, “Take care, Anna. You’re looking great.” Anna’s skin crawled, but she didn’t look back. She knew she had to be careful around Alex. Anna’s mind was racing as she walked away from Alex. She couldn’t shake off the feeling that there was more to their past than she’d remembered. As she laid in her bad that night, she closed her eyes trying to recall any details about Alex that might explain his behaviour. Fragments of memories began to surface. She remembered meeting Alex in college, bonding over late-night study sessions and shared laughter. But as time went on, Anna started to feel suffocated by Alex’s intense attention. She recalled trying to distance herself, but Alex’s persistence wore her down. One particular incident stood out in her mind. Alex had shown up at her doorstep, unannounced, bearing gifts and flowers. Anna felt trapped and uncomfortable, but Alex had just smiled and said he wanted to make sure she was okay. As Anna’s memories continued to resurface, she realized that Alex’s behaviour had been escalating even back then. She got out of bed and began to pace around her room, trying to thing of her next move. As she walked, her eyes fell on an old photo album on her bookshelf, she said to herself “I thought I had burnt everything”. She hadn’t looked at it in years, but something compelled her to open it. As she flipped through the pages, she saw photos of her and Alex from college. There were pictures of them laughing, studying and hanging out. But one photo caught her eye. It was a picture of Alex, staring intensely at her, his eyes filled with an unnerving adoration. Anna’s breath caught in her throat. She knew she had to show this to Liam Anna felt a wave of nausea wash over her as she stared at the photo. She couldn’t believe she had been so blind to Alex’s obsession. Girl, I thought you loved it open your eyes. exclaims like a broken girl from my country. Anyways, she arrived at Liam’s place, Anna’s thoughts were consumed by memories of her past with Alex. He listened attentively as Anna shared her memories and concerns. Liam’s expression grew more serious with each passing moment. “There has to be a reason he’s so fixated in you.” Anna nodded in agreement. Together, they decided to start investing Alex’s background, trying to uncover clues that might explain his behaviour. Liam pulled out his laptop and started searching for information on Alex. Anna sat beside him, watching closer. As they searched, Anna couldn’t shake off the feeling that Alex was watching her. She glanced around the room, feeling a sense of unease. Suddenly, Liam stopped scrolling and pointed to a post on one of Alex’s pages. “Look at this,” he said, his voice low. The post was an old photo of Anna and Alex together, that read “Forever mine.” As Liam showed Anna the post, his expressions faltered for a moment. Anna knows, noticed the hesitation in his eyes and reached out to touch his hand. “Hey what’s wrong?” Anna asked, concern etched on her face Liam took a deep breath before speaking. “I don’t know, Anna. Seeing all this…it’s just hard for me to process. You’re my girlfriend and yet...Alex seems to have a strong hold on you”. Anna’s heart went out to Liam. She knew he was feeling vulnerable and uncertain. “Liam, I understand why you’re feeling this way,” Anna Said softly.” But you have to trust me. What I have with you is real, and nothing is going to going change that. Alex is just a part of my past we are going to deal with him together, okay?” Liam looked into Anna eye’s searching for reassurance. Anna smiled and leaned in, her lips brushing against his. “I promise you, Liam, my heart belongs to you. We’re in this together, and we’ll get through it. Liam’s expression softened, and he wrapped his arms around Anna. “Okay, I’m sorry. I just… I care about you so much, and the thought of losing you to someone like Alex …. It’s unbearable.” Anna held him tight, feeling a surge of love and gratitude towards Liam. “You’re not going to lose me, Liam. I’m right her with you, and together, we’ll face whatever comes our way.” With renewed determination, Liam nodded, and together, they continued their investigation into Alex’s past, determined to uncover the truth and put an end to his obsession once and for all. As they sat down to continue their search, Anna’s phone buzzed with an incoming message. It was from an unknown number, and the message sent chills down Anna’s spine: “you can’t hide forever” Liam’s eyes narrowed as he watched Anna’s Interactions with Alex’s name on her phone. He couldn’t shake off the feeling that Anna was slipping away from him, drawn back into Alex’s orbit. The cryptic message had unsettled him, and how he found himself noticing strange occurrences that had him question Anna’s loyalty. A bouquet of flowers arrived at Anna’s apartment, with a note attached. Anna seemed thrilled, but Liam’s mind immediately went to Alex. Was this his way of sending a message? Liam’s guts told him yes.
