REVENGE OF THE HEART

ESCALATION

Anna’s plan was working well, Alex was getting jealous and Liam was playing his part perfectly. But as the days went by, Anna started to notice that Liam was getting closer to her. She could not help but notice the genuine interest in his eyes and it made her feel guilty.

Despite her growing unease, Anna pushed on with her plan. She knew that she had to see it through no matter the cost. She continued to flaunt her relationship with Liam in front of Alex, making posts and videos on social media.

And as for Alex and Liam they both had to keep their cool. Liam on one hand loved Anna so much that anytime he saw her, the intention of making sure she paid for using him grew stronger.

The question was who would emerge victorious in this game of love and revenge, and at what cost.

Anna’s eyes narrowed as she watched Alex flaunt his new friend. She felt a pang of jealousy, and she realized that she might not be the only one playing games. “who’s that with Alex?” Anna asked Liam, trying to sound casual. Liam followed her gaze. “Oh, that’s Sophia. She’s a friend from work”.

Anna’s mind started racing. Was Alex trying to make her Jealous? Was Sophia just a friend? Or was there something else going one?

Anna’s competitive streak kicked in. She decided to up the ante. Snuggling closer to Liam. as they danced, Anna made sure to stay close to Liam, touching his arms and whispering in his ear. Alex watched with a scowl, his eyes flashing with anger.

Sophia on the other hand, seemed oblivious to the tension. She chatted with Anna and Liam, asking them about their interests and hobbies. But Anna wasn’t interested in making friends she was there to make a point and wouldn’t let anything get in her way.

As the night went by Anna’s relationship began to blossom in the public eye. And Sophia began to notice the tension. While Alex’s behaviour was becoming erratic and Sophia started to question his motives. “Alex, what’s going on?” Sophia asked as concerned etched on her face. “You’re always talking about Anna. Do you still have feelings for her?”

Alex’s expression turned cold. “I just want to show her that I am doing just fine without her.”

But Sophia wasn’t buying it she saw the pain in Alex’s eyes and knew he was still hurting.

As Anna’s plan reached the c****x, she felt a rush of satisfaction. Alex was miserable, and she was getting the attention she craved for.

As Anna thought that she had the upper hand, she received a shocking revelation. Anna and Liam went out for dinner one night, and on reaching Liam’s place, Liam dropped his phone right on top of the room’s bed to go get something in the living room intentionally leaving his chat with Alex right open.

Anna reached out for his phone still looking out of the room to see if he was coming “let’s see what you have been up to pretty face” she said and chuckled.

As Anna scrolled through his chat Anna’s eyes widened at what she saw. She almost screamed but quickly covered her mouth she uttered slowly “he knew all along?”. “Why would he? Is this why he was still playing nice?” she asked herself all these questions while still scrolling.

“Found what you were looking for?” came a voice from behind her. Anna startled dropping the phone on the bed with shock.

“Liam” she said barely a whisper. Tears began to flow from her eyes. “I’m sorry” she said with her palm rubbing against each other. Liam kept his cool, he loved Anna and never wished this would happen.

He said “What are you sorry for?” with his eye brows raised. Anna felt a surge of anger in his words, but she kept begging.

“You’re not speaking to me Anna, why are you in tears”. At this point Anna sniffled, she stood still and said nothing. Liam continued “I thought so”. She started picking up her things and Liam said slowly. “Where are you headed dear?”

Just as she was about opening the door, Liam said “No uh uh I’m not done with you. “What do you mean?”. Liam moved closer to her and grabbed her neck and kissed her so hard. Anna has never been handled like that and that made her scream.

“You are just like other girls I have loved, why couldn’t you make an exception.” He said still holding her by the neck and kissing her aggressively. Anna struggled for breath; she has never been tortured this way. This made tears roll down her eyes begging, Liam was madly angry and wasn’t even hearing her. She struggled and managed to be free from his grasp she opened the door and ran straight out.

Anna ran as fast as her legs could carry her, she just wanted to escape this nightmare she had caused for herself. Anna managed to get to the gate and halted cab which she jumped right into.

“Where are you headed ma’am?” the driver asked. She responded with so much fear in her, “Drive!!!, Drive!!!”. The driver drove as fast as he could.

Anna leaned on the door to the cab and just regretted everything she sincerely wished she had listened to her friends when they had warned her about playing with Liam’s feelings. She just couldn’t believe it had gotten to this extent.

The driver dropped her on her street, Anna got down, paid the man and walked sluggishly down the road. A call startled her, it was her friend Amanda. She took the phone and placed it on her ears. “I’m finished” Amanda she said with another round of tears surrounding her eyes.
