Lyra’s POV “Paralyzed?” The word fell from the doctor’s lips like a curse, heavy. For a moment, I didn’t even breathe. My ears rang so loud I couldn’t hear anything else, not the beeping machines behind her, not the footsteps echoing in the corridor. Just that word. My lips trembled. “W-what do you mean paralyzed?” She sighed, eyes dropping for a second before meeting mine again. “The accident severely damaged his spine. He will not be able to walk again.
