Aria–
It had been over three days since I heard what the alpha king did to alpha Damien and it didn't seem to move me any more. I tried as much as possible to avoid him till he went back to his pack.
I would be going to see Caleb today,I hadn't seen him in three days and I missed him.
I heard a voice greet, “Goodmorning,Luna.” It was Cynthia. I guess she came to clean up the room and maybe, just maybe check up on me.
Lucian chose her as my personal maid. I was happy it was her,she was the only omega I could comfortably be around ever since she helped me out on the ball day.
“How are you doing today?” her voice bubbling with warmth. Her smile was beautiful. She had been so happy ever since she met her mate. He was from the Blood mood pack, Lucian's pack.
“I’m doing fine, thank you.”
She wore a simple blue dress that reached below her knee.
I was really curious about the mark on her neck. I wanted to touch it but I couldn't ask her about it. We weren't that close, even though we shared a cordial relationship.
She caught me staring, I was so embarrassed,I stared at it too much.
“S-Sorry.”
“No,no it's fine, you can have a look if you want to,you are my friend,” she smiled at me,then looked away. Her statement caused me to look up at her, searching her for any lies, I wasn't used to all this.
“Really?”
The same smile she had been wearing for days resurfaced on her lips. “Yes, really,”she said, laughing quietly.
She sat beside me on the queen sized bed.
I saw her mark clearly,it was in the shape of a moon, and there were stars on the moon. If your mate forcefully marked you,it would hurt and become sore.
“It's beautiful,” I confessed.
“Yes,it is.”
Her mark was different from the ones I saw in the pack,it was probably because her mate was from another pack. In Shadowcrest, the women had a wolf with its mouth open but in Bloodmoon,it was a half-moon with stars on it.
“I bet yours would be prettier than mine,” she said, looking at my neck.
I cringed immediately when she said those words. Thoughts about Alpha Lucian’s mark on my neck began to play in my mind.
My chest tightened as I scolded myself, “Stop that,Aria. It's not going to happen.” Why was I thinking about that?
“It's the mate bond,” Helana chimed in.
She had been distant for days. She wasn't happy about my decision to reject Lucian.
“Hello Helana. You decided to stay silent with me.”
“Yes,I do not like your behaviour towards our mate. You may not know it but the mate bond is drawing you to him, accept it,” she responded.
“You wish,” I muttered.
“By the way, what's a mate bond?”
“I almost forgot you know nothing about these things. I won't tell you what it is,you will find out yourself,” she answered.
“I'll find out about it by myself since you have chosen not to tell me,” I said this trying to annoy her into telling me but it didn't seem to work.
“Just tell me, please.”
She didn't respond.
I shook my head slightly as Cynthia's voice broke the conversation I was having with my wolf.
“Luna Aria?” She called out to me.
“Is something wrong? Should I leave you?” her tone turned cold, and her face became droopy. The smile had disappeared.
“Oh,no Cynthia. I was talking to my wolf, that's all that happened.” I didn't want her to feel I didn't want her by my side.
“I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong perception,” I murmured, tucking my hair behind my ears.
“Oh okay,” she beamed. Her beautiful smile was back.
“And please don't add Luna to my name. Just call me Aria,” I said.
She looked at me with a narrowed gaze and agreed, “Okay, but that would be done behind closed doors,” she gave me a cheesy smile.
I knew she was skeptical because of Lucian,no one wanted to get into any trouble with him. I was also as scared as everyone was of him but only Mrs. Clara and my wolf knew that.
“Enough with the chit chat. Can I change your bedding?” She returned to duty.
“Of course,”I got up and went to the sofa. I remembered I had to join them for breakfast this morning,I didn't want to see his face today. I felt so not right,it was like my every move was being monitored and I dreaded it.
“Can you please bring me my breakfast here?” I asked Cynthia, twisting the hem of my dress, “and if you are asked about me at the dining, tell them I have already eaten and I'm asleep.”
“Okay,Aria. I will do that,l,” she responded.
“Won't it get you into trouble,” I asked out of concern. I didn't want to bring her any trouble.
“It won't,you are the Luna after all,I would just be following your orders.”
“Thank you,” I said. She had saved me for breakfast, but I had no idea how to escape lunch.
“What should I get you for breakfast?” Cynthia inquired.
“I'm fine with anything.”
“Okay then,I'll be back soon,” she said, carrying out her cleaning supplies that I didn't notice her bring in.
I looked into the mirror and all my dark circles were gone, I looked and felt so energetic. I needed all the sleep I could get because soon it would be back to the basement for me. I opened up the wardrobe and chose a blue floral dress I had always wanted to try out. It was simple but elegant. I lay it on the bed and walked into the bathroom.
I hoped I could keep some of the dresses,I really hoped. I brushed my teeth and I loved the product. Selene was usually the one that used all these products but now I'm using them too.
I turned off the shower and wore the bathrobe Catherine gave me. She had her own room now,and I was glad to have my own space. She was two doors away from mine. Although she was a nice person,I was still uncomfortable around her, maybe it had something to do with her being Lucian's sister.
I wore my dress and tied my hair back in a sleek bun.
A knock came and it was Cynthia with the food.
“Come in!” I shouted in the direction of the door.
She walked in with a tray in her hand.
“Here,” she said, and left it on the table in the corner. She excused herself as soon when she was done setting the food.
I felt so bad that she was attending to my needs and hoped it would all end soon. She didn't need to worry,if I needed anything i would get it done myself but I wasn't going to tell her that.
I stood up from the dressing table where I was styling my hair and went to the window and stared outside. I saw pack warriors training and it looked so good. I saw six girls in their warrior outfits,I had always wanted to do this but I kept my want away
They were put in pairs and made to fight eachother as part of training. They were good at it,I just stared in awe. There,Alpha Lucian, teaching something to a boy. I quickly hid behind the curtains to avoid him seeing me. I peeped out and saw him with a girl, talking. It was Emily, the slut, what was she talking to him about?
“Why should I care!”
“Aria!! Come back to your senses. He just killed a man,” I scolded myself again when I noticed I had started thinking about him.
I ate my food. Cynthia brought so much,I hadn't even finished it and my stomach wanted to burst. I needed to send the food back to the kitchen.
I quietly opened the door and peeked through to ensure there was nobody there. I quickly walked back and carried the tray of food. I walked into the elevator since it was the fastest way down. I got down to the kitchen and I hadn't encountered either Lucian or his sister. I saw some girls and Beatrice in the kitchen, they weren't my problem.
“Goodmorning Luna, you can give me your plate,” Beatrice spoke, taking the tray from my hands and leaving me astonished.
“Thank you.” I quickly walked away. I made my way to the elevator and went up to my room.
I went to the window to check if Lucian was still there, the training ground was empty. I huffed and sat on my soft bed, feeling very bored and useless.
Cynthia walked in with my washed laundry. That was too fast. How?
“Where is your plate?” She asked, raising an eyebrow.
“I took it downstairs to the kitchen.”
“Okay,”she said, stressing the k-a-y, “Oh and the Alpha king asked after you and I told him you had eaten already and was asleep,” she said, smiling mischievously.
“He did?” Those were the only words that left my mouth.
“Yes,he did, then he left,” she stated.
I noticed she wanted to ask me something but she brushed it off and began folding my clothes into the wardrobe.
“Did it hurt?” I asked, eyes fixed on her neck.
“What?” her voice lilted with curiosity.
“Your mark,” I said, pointing at it.
“Oh, yeah it did just a little but it healed that instant. I don't think you should be worried about that,Aria,” she responded quickly.
Why did I even ask?
I nodded to let her know I had acknowledged what she said.
“Sorry about all this,” I gestured towards the clothing she was folding. I felt uncomfortable about her doinymy laundry and other things, she was literally my personal servant. She wasn't even meant to do all this because her mate was high ranked, all these duties were relieved of her.
“Don't bother about it,we shall be leaving soon to the Blood moon pack as soon as Alpha Lucian assigns a new Alpha to the Shadowcrest pack,”she pointed out clearly.
“What!!”
