Chapter 78

Her words made me quite anxious.

I took a sip of my drink to hide the panic I was feeling.

“You’re Simon Landry’s illegitimate son, right?” Nadia said confidently.

“Pfft!”

I spat out my drink.

I thought she had found out about my identity as the chairman of Stamen Group.

This was a far-fetched guess that I was not expecting from her.

“Am I wrong?” Nadia asked curiously.

“You’re definitely wrong,” I replied, not knowing what else to say.

“But it’s how these things usually unfold in television dramas. Your father is a rich man. He wants to acknowledge you, but you refuse. So, he can only try to reach out to you in various ways, one of which is through me.”

“I think you should stop watching mindless television like that. It’s affecting your intelligence.” I rolled my eyes at her.

“So, I was wrong?” Nadia stared at me. “Both of you look quite similar.”

“We’re really not related. Just think about it. He’s pretty young. It’s not possible for him to have had me when he was just a pre-teen, right?”

“That sounds about right.” Nadia realized that her theory did not make sense. “What is your relationship with him, then? Why did he donate so much money? It’s forty million. That’s a lot of money!!!”

“Well, it’s not necessary for you to continue asking about this. I’ll tell you about it when the time is right. By the way, what happened with the entrepreneur society? You must be feeling great right now after giving Roxy such a huge defeat.”

“That’s for sure.” Nadia immediately got excited at the mention of the society. “You didn’t see how humiliated Roxy was.”

“Is that so? Tell me about it. What happened at the meeting?”

“Nothing much. It’s just that I got all the votes to continue as the president in the next term. Also, the fund allocations this time round have to be approved by me beforehand. As for Roxy, she was fired from the society. Everyone voted for. it”

“That sounds pretty good. So, no one made any mention of us f*****g, right?” I chuckled.

“Do you think they would have even dared to?” Nadia glared at me as if blaming me for reminding her about this.

“That’s good then. To be honest, I really don’t think what we did counted. I never moved a muscle at all the entire time.”

“What do you mean by that, Freddie? Are you trying to deny it happened when you’ve already had your way?” Nadia said angrily.

“No, that’s not what I mean. What I mean to say is that perhaps we should do it for real this time?” I chuckled. I had made my intentions extremely clear.

“Hooligan!”

Nadia glared at me with embarrassment and anger. She did not accept the suggestion, but she did not reject me either.

“I’m hungry. Let’s eat!”

“Alright, I’ll order the dishes.”

I walked Nadia back to the school hostel after dinner.

She did not agree to go to a hotel room with me, which made me feel a little melancholy.

However, just as we were about to go our separate ways, she suddenly called out to me. “Freddie…”

“What? Did you change your mind?” I asked excitedly.

“Change my mind about what?” Nadia was puzzled.

“Nothing. Why did you call me?” I asked dispiritedly.

“I suddenly remembered something. It’s the weekend tomorrow, and the entrepreneur society is going to Mina Island. Why don’t you come along?”

Mina Island?

I knew of this island. It was not far from our school, and the scenery there was pretty great. There was a high-end leisure resort there.

I had been too poor before to go, even though I knew of the place.

“This is your society’s trip. Are you allowed to bring family along?” I smiled and asked.

Nadia did not find anything wrong with me using the word ‘family’. All she said was, “Others aren’t allowed, but it would definitely not be a problem for me.”

“Alright. Since you’ve extended the invitation to me, I’ll reluctantly accept.”

“Just listen to how arrogant you sound. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

With that, Nadia gave me a peck on the cheek and happily ran off.

I watched Nadia’s pretty figure disappear from sight.

I felt something in my heart.

It felt like the both of us were starting to act more like a couple!

The new and improved Nadia was not as hateful as before. Honestly, she was pretty adorable.

We gathered in front of the school gates the next morning at eight.

Everyone was in a particularly good mood as the trip was fully paid for.

However, I spotted two particularly hateful people when I go onto the bus.

They were Lacy Yates and Young Master Zane.

“What are they doing here? Are they even from the entrepreneur society?” I pointed at Young Master Zane to ask.

“Young Master Zane is from the Student Union. He manages all the clubs and societies in school. There’s not much I can do about him,” Nadia said with a sigh.

“This really sucks,” I said in exasperation.

Besides Lina Holden and Terry Logan, who had made fun of me before, Young Master Zane had also taken part in my bullying.

How could I cheer up on a happy day like this if he was around?

I was quite surprised that Lacey was here as well.

I observed them for quite a while and noticed Young Master Zane being quite attentive to Lacey.

If I was right, he must be courting Lacey.

This girl was still unrepentant after I taught her a lesson. She was still hanging around with people like Young Master Zane.

What happy ending was she expecting from being with a playboy like Young Master Zane?

The bus started to move at eight-thirty.

We had to take the bus to the port, then later take the ferry to Mina Island.

The first half of the journey was pretty smooth. Everyone had a good time chatting to each other.

When we got onto the ferry, however, that damned Young Master Zane actually took the seat next to me.

He was excited when he realized I was on the trip too.

He took the initiative to sit next to me. “Hey, isn’t this our school’s rubbish king, Freddie Lang? Aren’t you supposed to be picking up mineral water bottles on the school field? What are you doing coming to the island for some fun?”

Nadia knew of the animosity between me and Young Master Zane, so she quickly stood up to defend me. “You really should shut up, Young Master Zane. I was the one who invited Freddie here. It’s none of your business what others do here on the island.”

“Tsk, tsk, tsk. I never would have expected this.” Young Master Zane tsked. “You’re the president of the entrepreneur society, yet you’re so protective of him. What’s going on? Did you fall in love after you got f****d by him once? Isn’t there any other man out there that you can f**k?”

“Shut up!” Nadia said sharply.

“What’s wrong?” Young Master Zane laughed. “If you’re feeling lonely and empty, I can introduce you to a few good-looking guys, Nadia. There’s no need for you to be with a rubbish collector. Don’t you feel you feel the stink all over yourself after sleeping with him?”

“Are you done laughing yet?” I raised my head and stared coldly at Young Master Zane.

“Why, you mad at me?” He did not hide from my glare but laughed even more wildly.

Even Lacey, who was by his side, and the other students, began laughing along.

I laughed along with them. “If you want to know if I stink, Young Master Zane, why not ask your girlfriend after you sleep with her?”

It was just as I had guessed.

Young Master Zane was indeed courting Lacey. He was furious when he heard my words. “What bullshit are you spouting, you bastard? How dare you humiliate the campus belle, Lacey?”

“Well, you never know. Our school’s campus belle might go for someone like me.”

With that, I beckoned Lacey over to my side. “You, come sit over here.”

She had been laughing at me before, but she suddenly stopped at this. She looked extremely upset. “W-what do you want, Freddie?”

“Nothing. Just come over here and sit on my lap.” I slapped my thigh.

My surroundings turned eerily silent when I said that.

Everyone was extremely shocked. They had no idea why I was acting so arrogantly.

As for Young Master Zane, he said with embarrassment and anger, “Is something f*****g wrong with you, Freddie? How dare you openly flirt with my woman?”

I ignored the noise coming from Young Master Zane and said to Lacey. “I’m going to count down from three. If you don’t come over here, I’ll make sure you regret it. 3, 2…”

Lacey looked quite reluctant.

However, she knew I had something on her.

She struggled with her decision, but in the end, she sat on my lap obediently.

Everyone was stunned to see this.

Even Nadia’s jaw dropped at this.

However, I had no intention of explaining myself as I wrapped my hand around Lacey’s slender waist. I smiled at Young Master Zane. “Young Master Zane, I may stink, but your girlfriend does smell really good!”
