Actually, getting Roman to be my lapdog was just a stalling tactic.
This guy had been harassing Layla every few days, and it was quite annoying.
Moreover, he was such a handsome person. I was worried about him being around her, so I thought up this scheme.
There would be a few outcomes from this plan.
Number one, I would be able to stop him from harassing Layla.
Number two, I would be stalling him. While he stopped wooing Layla, I would go all out to capture her heart. By the time Roman would come to realize what had happened, it would be too late. Layla might already be pregnant with my second child by then.
I was quite confident about this.
Roman might have thought I was just an ordinary person, which was why he had gone along with my plan without worry. However, I was a billionaire!
As for number three, I could take Roman White in as my minion!
It felt pretty good to have a superstar like him as a minion.
This plan of mine had seemed quite difficult to sell at first since it would be a tough bargain.
However, it turned out that Roman was consumed by love and did not have high emotional intelligence.
When I was researching him with his videos, I concluded that he had a great career in the entertainment industry because of his God-given advantages.
He had been given the perfect appearance, and he had a seemingly magnetic voice.
Fans saw his low emotional intelligence as ‘innocent and romantic’.
In conclusion, Roman was not a bad person, but he still should not have targeted my wife.
Having his eyes on my wife meant that I would be ruthless.
“Should I refer to you as Mr. Lang in the future? You’re a pretty incredible person. Can you be my mentor?” Roman looked at me with admiration.
“Don’t do that. That’ll just make us seem like strangers. We should just be buddies from now on,” I said with a chuckle.
“I’m a few years older than you, so I’ll act like your older brother. Don’t worry, Brother. Just let me know whenever you need my help. I’ll do everything in my power to help you.” Roman patted himself on the chest as he said this.
“Haha, it’s great to have an older brother like you. This is wonderful.”
“Come on, let’s have a hug!” Roman reached out in an attempt to pull me in for a hug.
However, my phone suddenly rang.
I looked at my phone and saw that it was a call from Nadia.
I showed Roman my phone and smiled. “I’m sorry, but my girlfriend is calling me.”
“You have a girlfriend?” Roman was astonished.
“Of course I do. Layla and I are in a contract marriage. I’m allowed to have a girlfriend.”
“I owe you an apology, Brother. I shouldn’t have been suspicious of you from the very start.” Roman looked apologetic.
“It’s fine. We didn’t know each other well before. It’s only normal of you to have been suspicious of me. Well, let me take the call first.”
With that, I picked up the call and put it on speaker to make it all the more convincing.
“Hey, Freddie, what are you doing? I’m feeling so bored,” Nadia sounded quite listless at the other end of the call.
“Nothing much. If you’re feeling bored, accompany me for dinner. I haven’t had anything to eat yet.”
“Are you planning on having dinner, or are you planning to have me instead?” Nadia was brazen as she said whatever she wanted to.
I quickly turned off speaker mode with embarrassment. “I meant dinner. Not anything else. I’m at the school gates. Are you coming?”
“I’ve already had my dinner, but I’ll accompany you for a meal. I’m bored, anyway. Wait for me.”
With that, we hung up.
I lifted my head to look at Roman as I said with embarrassment, “I’m sorry. I must seem so ridiculous to you, Roman. My girlfriend expresses herself quite freely and says anything she wants to.”
“Haha, that’s fine. To be honest, I’m quite envious of how comfortable you both are with each other,” Roman said with a chuckle.
I could clearly sense that he now trusted me more than before.
…
Due to Roman’s identity, I personally called Lindy to book a private suite in Sicily.
I sent the location to Nadia and waited in the private suite for her with Roman.
Nadia arrived late at about seven that night.
When she saw that I was the only one in the private suite, she complained to me. “It’s just the both of us for dinner, Freddie. Is it necessary to come to such a high-end restaurant? It’s quite a waste of money.”
“Haha, don’t worry about it. We aren’t paying. Someone else is paying for the meal.”
There was no reason for me to pay when I was eating out with Roman.
Roman wanted to be a certified lapdog and suck up to me whenever he could. It was only natural that I was not required to pay for anything.
“Who is buying the meal? Why are you being so mysterious?!” Nadia asked doubtfully.
“He just went to the washroom. You’ll find out who he is in a while. Don’t scream when you see him.”
“Tsk, I won’t do anything like that. By the way, are you really just having dinner with me tonight?” She began to entice me with her feet under the table after saying this.
If this had been before, I would have had her right on the spot.
However, Roman could walk in at any time, so all I could do was glare fiercely at her. I sharply said, “Stop that! We’ll end up embarrassing ourselves!”
“I’m not worried about that at all.” Nadia grew even more brazen.
The timing could not have been any worse as Roman decided to return from the washroom right then.
Nadia was stunned.
She said to me, in a daze, “Give me your arm.”
“What?” I was puzzled.
“Give it to me!!!”
Nadia said it so fiercely that I had to let her have my arm. The next thing I knew, she pinched me quite viciously on the inside of my forearm.
I could not help howling from the sudden searing pain.
Nadia was absolutely delighted when she heard my painful shouts. “Oh my God, I’m not dreaming. I’m really not dreaming!”
She was so excited that she jumped around with joyful yaps as she rushed forward to hug her idol.
However, Roman considered the fact that she was my girlfriend, and he extended his hand to her instead. He said gently, “How do you do, Sister-in-law? I’m Roman White.”
Nadia shook Roman’s hand excitedly and later looked puzzled as she asked, “What did you just call me?”
“You’re my buddy, Freddie’s, girlfriend, which makes you my sister-in-law,” Roman said with a smile.
“Buddies? The two of you?” Nadia looked at Roman and then at me. No matter how much she tried to make sense of this, she could not understand how we were buddies.
“Hey, don’t just stand there, you two. Come on over here, and let’s have dinner. If you have anything to say, we can talk about it over dinner,” I said to both of them.
“Oh, right.”
They took their respective seats after my reminder.
However, Nadia was still not over her shock. There was a dazed look in her eyes.
It took more than ten minutes for her to finally accept what was going on. She next chatted non-stop with Roman while I was unable to get a word in sideways.
They chatted for quite a while before I heard Nadia mention the concert. I took the opportunity to say, “Roman, since you’re here, why not just have a concert at our school if you don’t have anything else on your schedule?”
I mentioned it quite casually.
Nadia glared at me in disbelief when she heard this. “Stop joking around, Freddie. My idol is not just anyone. How can you ask him to have a concert just like that…”
She might have wanted to say that something like a Roman White concert could not be organized so easily, but before she could finish her sentence, Roman immediately agreed to it. “Sure. I have nothing much to do, anyway. You can decide the time.”
“???!!!!”
Nadia was completely stunned.
She might never understand why Roman agreed to such an unreasonable request from me.
…
We parted ways with Roman after dinner, and I saw Nadia back to the hostel.
She was in a daze the entire journey and still looked to be in shock when we arrived.
Just as I was about to leave, she suddenly called out to me, “Freddie, was I dreaming? We just met Roman White and he agreed to have a concert at our school…”
“You’re not dreaming. It’s all real.” I nodded seriously.
“How do you know Roman? And you’re even buddies with him?” Nadia was quite puzzled.
“Well, you can just see me as a miracle man. As for other questions, you should stop asking them.”
I turned to leave after that. If I did not walk away, Nadia would continue with her questions.
My phone rang not long after I left.
This time, the call was from Layla.
