I immediately guessed she was calling me.

Roman must have done what I ordered and apologized to Layla, telling her that he would stop wooing her.

At the thought of this, I happily picked up the call. “Hi, Wifey, is anything the matter?”

“Did you meet Roman this afternoon, Freddie?” Layla sounded a little agitated from the other end.

“Yup. We met and had a friendly dinner together,” I said with a chuckle.

“Did you convince him to stop wooing me?”

Layla actually did not protest with me using the word ‘husband’ for once.
