“I don’t think you have the power to expel me,” I sneered at Charles.
I knew very well that Charles Lincoln had no right to expel me.
The school had set up proper rules about expelling students. To do so required the dean’s stamp of approval or a unanimous agreement of the school’s upper management in a meeting.
That was how I knew Charles was just trying to intimidate me. He had no power to expel anyone at all.
“I don’t have the power? You’ve stolen something from your classmate, and you think you’re above the law by beating up the school’s upper management in public. These two actions alone are enough for you to be expelled a hundred times from this school.” Charles began laughing wickedly.
He seemed confident that expelling me was a sure thing.
I began laughing along with him. “Is that so? Well, let’s get the dean to be the judge of that, and we’ll find out who gets kicked out of school!”
With that, I strode forward and went straight for the dean’s office.
“Don’t you dare escape, you son of a bitch.” With that, Charles gestured for security to follow him.
“Come with me, and don’t let that son of a b***h go anywhere. I also need you to bear witness to what happened.”
…
We arrived at the door of the dean’s office after a few minutes.
“Wait here while I inform the dean about this,” said Charles.
I ignored him and opened the door to enter the office.
I took a seat in front of the dean, not even waiting for a welcome.
“Who are you? Why didn’t you knock?” The dean, Franklin Stone, frowned and said.
I chuckled in reply, “There’s no need for me to knock the door of your office before I come in. Let me introduce myself. I’m Freddie Lang. I’m a Year 2 Senior (3) student from the Finance Faculty. I’m here to ask you for justice.”
“I don’t care what justice is it you’re seeking. Get out.” It was clear that Franklin Stone had a very bad impression of me.
However, I refused to leave the seat and instead calmly said, “I think you should listen to this. Otherwise, you’ll end up regretting it.”
“Charles, is this your student? Get him out of here right now.”
When Charles saw how arrogant I was acting, he was not frantic at all, and smiled instead. “Mr. Stone, I can’t control how arrogant this student is acting. He even beat me up in my office just now. He’s out of control, which is why I’m here to trouble you about this.”
“What?! How dare he beat up a teacher?!”
Anger appeared on Franklin’s face.
As the dean of the school, rules were extremely important to him. It was unthinkable for a student to beat up a teacher. Whoever broke such a rule must be expelled.
“That’s right. Not only did he beat up a teacher, but he also stole something. This student has a very bad character,” Charles said with relish.
“What exactly is going on?” Franklin’s face turned grim at those words.
He could not tolerate bad apples in this school.
“It’s like this, Mr. Stone. Freddie stole a watch worth two hundred thousand from his classmate. We caught him with evidence, but when I wanted to give him a chance, Freddie wouldn’t comply and even beat me up in public. How do you think we should handle a student like this, Mr. Stone?” Charles smiled as he asked.
“We would of course need to expel such a terrible student! We should expel him immediately!” Franklin said bitterly.
However, a thought crossed his mind after saying this, and he asked further, “Mr. Lincoln, do you have sufficient evidence for what you just claimed?”
Charles replied with confidence, “Of course I do. I wouldn’t be saying this without anything to back me up. The security camera in the corridor caught him beating up me, and the three security personnel can bear witness to it too.”
“That’s right, we saw it. This student beat up Mr. Lincoln.” The three security guards who had followed us in nodded at the same time.
“As for what he stole, the school’s Physical Education teacher, James Richardson, and his entire class are witnesses. They saw Howard Lincoln’s lost watch fall out of Freddie Lang’s schoolbag.”
“You’ve caught him with evidence?”
“That’s right. We’ve got the evidence on him. That was not the only thing we found. A pink m**********n cup was also found in his bag, which proves how low this student’s character is…”
“Stop.” Franklin interrupted Charles with a look of annoyance. “I need to confirm this for myself.”
With that, he made a call. “Hi, Mr. Richardson, regarding your Physical Education class today… Oh, you saw it too, did you? Alright, I understand.”
Franklin hung up and said to Charles, “Inform the Student Department to cancel Freddie Lang’s student status.”
Canceling my student status was equivalent to getting expelled.
I had not said a word at this point. I could not help but speak up now. “Mr. Stone, as the central witness of this situation, shouldn’t you listen to what I have to say?”
“There is already evidence against you. What you have to say isn’t important anymore,” Franklin said grimly.
It was clear that he was now in a terrible mood over his student doing something as bad as this.
“Since you’re not willing to listen to me, I have no choice but to get someone else to speak to you.” With that, I took out my phone and gave Vincent a call. “Uncle Quinn, I was framed and my school wants me expelled. Can you help me take care of this?”
“Oh, I see you have connections.” Charles suddenly laughed and said to Franklin, “Mr. Stone, if someone intercedes on his behalf in this situation…”
“Don’t worry, even if he gets the Education Department calling us, I will still have him expelled!” Franklin said righteously.
After I was done with my call, I continued sitting calmly in my seat. “Mr. Stone, I would advise you to pick up the call that will be coming in for you. Otherwise, you might live to regret it.”
“You rascal, who do you f*****g think you are? Didn’t you hear what Mr. Stone just said? Even if your father is from the Education Department, you’ll still be expelled… Rules are rules. No one can defy them.” Charles said this as he knew he had the dean’s support.
However, Franklin frowned when he saw how unusually calm I was. “Mr. Lincoln, what is this Freddie Lang’s background like?”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Stone. I have done an extensive check on his background. His parents have passed, and he’s an orphan. He relies on the school’s scholarships and financial aid every year to support himself. When times are really bad, he’ll pick rubbish up to sell. All the school’s teachers and students know him. He doesn’t have much of a background.”
“Alright. Thank you for the information.” Franklin was relieved to know that I did not have much of a background.
Right at that moment, Franklin’s phone suddenly rang.
It sounded especially piercing in the silent room…
Franklin initially did not want to pick it up, but it continued ringing, and sounded like it did not intend to stop…
Franklin could not take it any longer and decided to pick up the call in the end.
He quickly turned pale with fright when he heard the voice on the other end. He covered the phone with his hand and quickly ran out.
Charles looked at me in surprise when he saw Franklin leave the office. “Who did you get help from? Why is the dean in a panic?”
“Don’t worry. This must have been a misunderstanding. Which powerful person would I know?” I chuckled as I attempted to convince Charles otherwise.
“That’s true. It must be a misunderstanding. If you knew powerful people, you wouldn’t be picking rubbish for a living.” Charles sighed with relief.
…
It was a few minutes later when Franklin returned after the phone call.
“Mr. Stone, are we still kicking Freddie Lang out of school?”
“Yes, we are!” Franklin mumbled.
Charles was deeply relieved when he heard this, and the smile on his face got wider.
However, he was not able to smile the next second, because Franklin said, “Mr. Lincoln, you lied to your superior. Trash like you should be kicked out by the school.”
“What? Are you firing me?” Charles was baffled. He did not understand why the dean had a 180-degree attitude change after receiving a call outside.
“Mr. Stone, did you make a mistake?” Charles looked extremely panicked right now.
However, Franklin ignored him as he chuckled and looked at me in an overly friendly manner. “Mr. Lang, everything before was all just a mistake. If you have suffered any injustices, please feel free to let me know, and I will make sure you get fair treatment.”
I knew that Vincent had settled everything for me when I heard this.
I crossed my legs and chuckled as I said, “You should have just settled this properly in the first place! This wasted a lot of my saliva!”
