Chapter 30

1670 Words
“That’s wonderful. I hope Monday will come soon.” Lina sounded excited. I smirked and sent her a string of numbers. “This is my number. Save it.” “Alright, I’ll make sure to save it. See you on Monday night.” “See you.” I logged off after I was done. However, I saw Lina change her personal description just before I logged off. “Chestnut Sandy, campus belle of Seaborn University, Gentle Heart’s real-life friend. Lifting the mysterious veil of Gentle Heart for everybody to see on my live stream on April 18…” Live stream? She was using me as a marketing gimmick? I sniggered when I read this. It was too early to tell who was making use of whom. The big fish had taken the bait, and my plan for revenge was finally set in motion. I logged out and went to the bathroom to clean up. After that, I went to bed. … I went to class the next morning after breakfast. Everyone turned to look at me the moment I stepped into the classroom. They looked me up and down as if I was some monster. I knew that this was because of what had happened last night. They must be very curious right now. They must be curious about how I had gotten the VIP grandstand tickets. Curious about whether I really did have s*x with Nadia in a hotel last night, and how many times we had done it. I walked in with my head held high and chuckled as I got to my seat. “Freddie, Freddie, did you really do Nadia last night?” Chris got close to me with curiosity when I sat down. “Guess.” I smiled at him and did not give him a direct answer. “That must be a ‘yes’. Why would you give her money if you hadn’t? How was it? Was it fun in bed with her? You didn’t ejaculate immediately when Nadia had you between those great legs of hers, did you?” “Come on, you d**k. I’m not like you. I don’t ejaculate in three seconds.” I rolled my eyes at him in a huff. Chris was not angry. He laughed and gave me a push. “So, how many times did you do Nadia last night?” “Why would I tell you?” I noticed the classmates around me listening intently as Chris interviewed me. Chris began to act all coquettishly. It was disgusting. “Come on, tell me. Tell me and I’ll share a couple of secrets with you too!” Chris began to negotiate in order to find out what he wanted to know. “Actually, I didn’t f**k her last night.” I told him the truth. “What? Are you lying to me? Who would believe that? Are you embarrassed because you ejaculated in seconds? But to be fair, no man would be able to take it with Nadia’s luscious legs involved. Besides, she’s our class representative. It must have been exhilarating to stick it hard to her with her under you, especially when she’s bullied you so much!” “Just shut up and tell me your secret.” “Well, my secret has something to do with Nadia too.” He got close to my ear and said, “Howard broke up with her.” “How did you find out?” Even though I was expecting it, I was still surprised to hear it from another person. “I saw Nadia with Howard in the little forest last night. They argued there for a long time before leaving unhappily. They must have broken up.” “That’s for sure. If they didn’t break up, Howard would have been reminded of me having explored Nadia deeply before him every time he tried f*****g her…” “You rascal! You’re bad, but I have to admit it’s a beautiful job you’ve done!” “Alright, what’s the second secret?” I looked at Chris. “Actually, the second thing is not really a secret. It’s about Lina. She made an announcement on her streaming channel that she will be live streaming the reveal of the mysterious Gentle Heart on Monday night at eight.” “That’s not really a secret.” I rolled my eyes at him, speechless. “Yeah, it’s really not. The entire school knows about it, and everyone is waiting for the stream on Monday. Who do you think this Gentle Heart is? He’s seriously rich. He rewarded Cutie Pie Montana with ten spaceships again last night.” I chuckled. “Who knows? He might even be someone close to you.” “Close to me? That’s not possible. The richest person I know is you,” Chris said doubtfully. He opened his mouth, wanting to say something else. However, the teacher walked in with some books in hand, and our class began. Chris was not yet done discussing this, but he could only shut his mouth and focus on class. … After being in class the entire day, I was finally done with school. I took out my phone after class ended and saw the message Montana had sent me. “Freddie, don’t leave school immediately after class. I’ll be waiting for you by the statue at the gates. Let’s go take a look at our new place.” “Alright. Wait for me.” I packed my bags happily after replying to Montana. Even though I was only housemates with Montana, it still felt especially sweet to have this kind of relationship with her. It felt like we were a couple. I waited at the statue next to the school gates for about four to five minutes. Montana finally arrived. “Hop into the car, Freddie.” I jumped into Montana’s passenger seat under the envious stares of everyone around us. “Why are we driving when it’s so near to us?” I was speechless. “I don’t have a choice. If we walk from school, those fans would insist on stopping me for an autograph or picture. It’s really frustrating,” Montana said in a sort of snooty manner. “I think you actually enjoy it.” I exposed her with a chuckle. “Let’s stop talking about this and just go see the place.” “Alright.” It only took a few minutes for us to reach Waterfront Paradise because we were driving. Montana took out her phone and called the landlord. It took more than ten minutes before a pretty figure approached us. Montana immediately said to me when she saw the woman, “Help out with the haggling later. I’m not good at it, so I’m relying on you.” “Alright.” I nodded in agreement as I watched the approaching figure. She looked a little familiar. Where had I seen her before? The lady landlord came closer, and Montana immediately got out of the car. She said politely to the landlord, “Hi, Macy, this is my housemate. We’re here to see the place together.” “Alright, you…” The woman was about to greet me but was taken aback when she saw my face. She blurted out, “Mr. Lang, what are you doing here?” “Mr. Lang?” Montana widened her eyes as she looked at me with a puzzled look on her face. I was taken aback too. Who would have thought that the landlord would be Macy Ziegler, the female manager I had met at the sales center a while ago? I quickly let out a cough at the thought of her knowing my identity and immediately said, “I think you might be mistaken, Miss. I’m just a poor student, not anyone you might know.” Macy had worked as a manager in a sales center and was quite good at catching hints and accommodating people. She understood that I did not want to reveal my identity when she heard my words and immediately changed her tone. “Oh, I’m so sorry. You look a lot like my first customer, so I must have mistaken you for him.” “I see.” Montana was relieved. “By the way, Miss Bale, what do you think of the place?” “We like it a lot, but…” Montana winked madly at me at this point, throwing hints at me to begin haggling. I got the hint and let out a sigh. “But this place has a lot of shortcomings. First, there’s no proper airing from the south to the north points, and the lighting is not great. Also, the management here isn’t the best, which is why the price is too expensive at three a thousand a month. How about this: let’s do one thousand a month. What do you think?” Montana was stunned when she heard this. From three thousand to one thousand? That was crazy. “I’m so sorry, my housemate is sputtering nonsense.” Montana pulled me aside after saying that to Macy. She said, “How can you haggle from three thousand to one thousand? What if you scare her off? I’ve finally found a place I like after walking around until my legs nearly broke. I’ll do the haggling if you don’t know how.” I was not bothered by Montana’s words. I was actually doing my best not to rent this place. Macy knew who I was, and I did not have a good feeling about renting from her, which was why I had purposely lowballed her. “Don’t say anything to make the situation worse, understand?” Montana pulled me back to where Macy was after warning me. Before Montana could say a word, Macy said, “I’ve given careful thought about what the gentleman has said, and I agree that three thousand is too much. How about renting this place for one thousand instead?”
