~Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does~ -Jean-Paul Sartre Niyonika could feel the power pouring off of it in waves, however the force of this power was extremely weak signifying her low level of cultivation, still yet the vibrant mass of energy was still considerably powerful and Niyonika found it hard to believe this mass of powerful air element was still at the mid stage of the first level of the elemental novice realm, it seemed much too powerful. Niyonika reached for this mass of air elemental energy and pulled her hand back in surprise. "Peak stage of the second level of the elemental novice realm? This Niyonika kept some secrets, didn't she?" Niyonika pondered to herself as she felt the true level of her air element. Why the previous Niyonika had decided to conceal her true level of cultivation, Niyonika was not certain, but for whatever reason it was, this explained why the attack in the illusionary world was so strong, the element defining rock had felt her true cultivation level. Niyonika frowned slightly, there was no possible way to take anything back as the element defining rock had probably already taking a record of her true element cultivation level and would definitely reveal it. Niyonika guessed the previous Niyonika was hiding her true cultivation level for the sake of her own safety, she knew it would definitely be revealed at the ranking contest but she wanted to keep herself safe till then. When her mere looks had already attracted her so much hatred, if she showed she was also not too lacking in cultivation prowess, she would attract a lot more problems as the peak stage of the second level of the elemental novice realm at fifteen summers was a considerable achievement, just a little short of Yana's level of talent. However hiding her true level of cultivation seemed not to have made any difference, she had still ended up tumbling down a cliff. Niyonika was not certain she was prepared to reveal her true level of cultivation yet, however deceiving the element defining rock was not an easy feat, had she known earlier that the previous Niyonika kept such a secret, she would have thought of methods to avoid exposing it now. "Would it be a lot to ask for you to just reflect as only the low stage of the second level of the elemental novice realm?" Niyonika asked the mass of pulsing energy quietly before shaking her head at her silliness. "However it is, we have to make it out of the illusion world first, now, how do I make use of you?" Niyonika asked aloud again, despite knowing she would not be receiving an answer. Niyonika reached for the mass of pulsing energy once again and willed it to flow into her hands, she focused her mind on controlling it's movements as she watched it release a string of energy that flowed into her hands. Niyonika's eyes fluttered open in her mind space and she stared with awe at the rushing gust of air dangling just atop her open palm. Niyonika poured more energy into it and watched as the small gust of air strengthened, growing larger and larger till it was a miniature tornado spinning furiously on her palm. "Amazing..." Niyonika could not help but exclaim in awe, the pure power that pulsed of it filled her with confidence and assurance and Niyonika knew that as long as tarried in this Elemental god continent, every form of air in nature was bound to her will. Niyonika recalled the situation in the illusionary world as the sounds of the roaring winds once again reached her, Niyonika stopped drawing energy from the pulsing mass within herself and instead directed her control to the turbulent winds in the illusionary world. Just as Niyonika expected, the turbulent winds were controlled by her and as she drew it in slow quantities to herself, she could hear the roar of the winds much more clearly now as she permitted it's entry into her mind space in little quantities. Niyonika then stirred the mass of energy within herself in an attempt to absorb the abundant wind energy. This was a surprising turn of events as every other cultivator had naturally tried to best their element by subduing it through confrontation, none could have expected there would be a cultivator that would sit and absorb the energy instead of trying to overcome it and escape the illusion world. Niyonika herself had no idea why she decided to absorb the energy rather than fight it, it was just what felt like the sane thing to do. 'Why fight against an element I can control?' Niyonika wondered, it was obvious in this that the thought processes of Niyonika of 2099 vastly differed from that of all the other outer disciples. Niyonika patiently absorbed the wind energy in waves after waves, feeling it build up within herself, she directed it to flow into the mass of pulsing energy within her and watched as it grew larger and pulsed more energetically. In the process of Niyonika absorbing the wind energy for about an hour, something strange happened. Niyonika felt a sudden surge of energy within her and then the mass of pulsing energy gave off a powerful burst of energy and although Niyonika had only just arrived in the Elemental god continent, even she could understand the significance of that burst of energy. 'Third level of the Elemental novice realm! I broke into the third level!' Niyonika exclaimed within her heart and realizing the great good this wind energy could do her, Niyonika concentrated on absorbing more and more of it. Along the line as the hours passed by and Niyonika kept on absorbing, smaller bursts of energy were released by the pulsing mass within Niyonika, these smaller bursts although not as big as the large burst which signified an advancement in levels, they still had their own significance. 'Low stage of the third level of the Elemental novice realm.' 'Mid stage of the third level of the elemental novice realm.' 'High stage of the third level of the elemental novice realm.' 'Peak stage of the third level of the elemental novice realm.' At this point, Niyonika was baffled, she had only absorbed a little over half of the wind energy and she had broken into and quite nearly crossed an entire level of a cultivation realm! The very same levels Raila had told her took months and even years to progress through even to the most talented elemental cultivators! 'Who would have thought the wind energy from the turbulent wind that had been set as a test in the illusionary world of the element defining rock had such potential?' Niyonika pondered to herself in astonishment. Niyonika continued cultivating, intent on absorbing every last bit of wind energy in the illusionary world no matter how long it took, after all, who could tell when next she would have the kind of opportunity to make such a frighteningly rapid advancement in cultivation? Niyonika felt another large burst of energy and the glowing mass within Niyonika increased to twice it's size. 'Fourth level of the elemental novice realm!' Niyonika exclaimed to herself, however the advancement still did not cease, another series of smaller bursts of energy shook Niyonika through the next few hours. 'Low stage of the fourth level of the elemental novice realm.' 'Mid stage of the fourth level of the elemental novice realm.' 'High stage of the fourth level of the elemental novice realm.' 'Peak stage of the fourth level of the elemental novice realm.' Another large burst of energy shook Niyonika and Niyonika released a deep breath of amazement. "Fifty level of the elemental novice realm!" Niyonika exclaimed, this time aloud. "I must be a genius! Or my luck must simply be heaven defying!" Niyonika thought in amazement. At this point, the wind energy in the illusionary world had been severely depleted and as Niyonika absorbed the last strands of it, she felt two more smaller bursts of energy after which there was no more wind energy left to absorb. Niyonika's eyes fluttered open to see her mind space, she rose to her feet slowly from her meditative position and stretched her aching limbs. Niyonika was not sure for how long she had sat here absorbing wind energy but from the ache in her limbs, she assumed it had been a few days at the very least. Niyonika was glad a few days was still merely just some minutes back in the real world, else she really might have been exiled from the sect if she could not give a reasonable explanation as to why she was within the illusionary world for such a long time. Niyonika took a peek at the mass of energy within her and was astonished by it's massive size and the sheer power pouring off of it. "Mid stage of the fifth level of the elemental novice realm, this level of speed in cultivation can be considered a once in a lifetime genius in this Elemental god continent." Niyonika said quietly, within her heart, she assumed this would attract her much trouble. Niyonika then recalled something. It was a breathing technique they had learned in the institute that was used to obscure one's body heat and heart rate so no one else could pick it up. Niyonika hoped it would be able to hide her cultivation level and so she shut her eyes and took a deep breath before she began performing the breathing pattern, this time she infused her air element into every one of her breaths and willed for the massive mass of air element to change, she hoped to lower it to the low stage of the second level till the real ranking contest began. However after trying for a while and noticing no visible change in the mass of her air element, Niyonika gave up and came to terms with the fact that her true cultivation level would be exposed. Although Niyonika was not certain how she would explain such a frightening advancement in cultivation, there was no helping it, she could only begin planning methods to protect herself from the danger her progress would bring her way. Although Niyonika doubted anyone would find it easy to attack her with her current level of cultivation, but in any case, should they decide to, Niyonika would be ready.
