"Why did you turn down his advances?" Niyonika heard her system's voice a while after Dean had left.

Niyonika still lay on her bed where he had left her after giving her a final peck, she had not pushed him away when he kissed her, she had even kissed him back, not for any reason exactly, just to give Dean sometime to get whatever he needed to get out his system.

Dean was a person Niyonika greatly respected, they had been through much together in times where they only had each other to rely on.

Niyonika had always been a loner and her missions were mostly handled alone, she had only ever been partnered with Dean and during that course of time in a foreign timeline, Dean risked everything to protect her even when she did not want or need his protection.

If there was one person Niyonika could entrust her safety to, it would be Dean and so she did not mind giving in to him to an extent, however she would never lead him on, he needed to know that night had only been a mission to her.

"You wish for me to have s*x with Dean?" Niyonika asked her system in surprise.

"It's not about it being Dean as much as the fact that you equally need to get some things out your system, and it's one of the only methods you haven't tried yet." Niyonika frowned at her system's words.

"What exactly are you talking about?" Niyonika asked puzzled.

"You have changed Niyo, in our past four time jumps, you were moved by the male leads." Niyonika's system reminded, Niyonika huffed in annoyance.

"And you think the solution to that, is me getting laid?" Niyonika asked in bafflement.

"Not necessarily. Contrary to what others believe about you, I have been with you your whole life so I am clear on the fact that you are not emotionless, rather you merely have an extraordinary control over your emotions that is unusual for the human race." Niyonika was quiet for a while after the system spoke.

"So what exactly changed? Why is my control wavering, and what can I do to stop it?" Niyonika whispered aloud.

"I thought you'd never ask, year 753... when you killed emperor Hugh, you are yet to get over that guilt..." Niyonika's system hesitantly replied her, Niyonika raised a brow as she quickly sorted through her memories to the unforgettable events of year 753.

"Daya... Why?" Niyonika's eyes widened in horror as she glanced at the blood pooling at the emperor's chest where her sword had just pierced.

Emperor Hugh stared up at his beloved concubine in shock, he could not believe she would be the one to end him.

"I... I... forgive me." Niyonika stuttered out, fervently reassuring herself within her heart that this was her mission, this was what she was sent here for.

Emperor Hugh had become a tyrant, he had taken so many innocent lives, shed so much blood and he would shed many more, and he had done it all for what?...for her or rather, for his beloved concubine Daya.

Noble consort Daya, emperor Hugh's beloved concubine was the daughter of the minister of rites as well as the most beautiful and talented maiden in all the kingdom of Krino.

Emperor Hugh and young Daya were childhood sweet hearts a very long time ago when emperor Hugh was still merely the eight prince Hugh of the kingdom of Krino, the one prince who had no hopes of ascending the throne as he was birthed by a slave whom the emperor had c**************e of in a drunken haze.

Eight prince Hugh was known to be the most unfavored and unloved prince of all the thirteen princes of the Krino kingdom, despite this eight prince Hugh was hardly affected, how could he be when he was loved by the most sought after maiden in all the kingdom?

What greater gift could there be than to have your affections returned by the woman who owned your heart and commanded your every thought?

Most of the princes and lords of the royal court eagerly sought to court young Daya, but young Daya only had eyes for the eight prince, the love birds had the happiest times together, untill the unfortunate day the lecherous emperor that was Hugh's father laid eyes on Daya.

The emperor had heard tales of the unrivalled beauty of the daughter of his minister of rites but this maiden was known to be quite seclusive in nature and never attended any social gatherings, as such, the emperor had never laid eyes on young Daya before, until that unfortunate day.

The emperor marvelled at Daya's beauty whilst admiring her from a distance and the very next day a royal decree was dispatched to the home of the minister of rites.

Daya was to enter the emperor's harem as a first rank noble consort, at the very same time, a royal decree was dispatched to the eighth prince's mansion.

The eighth prince was bestowed a political marriage with the daughter of the prime minister, the highest ranked and most powerful minister in the royal court with a standing second only to the emperor himself.

The emperor had made his findings after setting eyes on his new love and had come up with a vicious plan to seperate the love birds and get his way.

Most people wondered within their hearts if the eighth prince had finally been able to gain the emperor's favour, to be bestowed such an advantageous marriage, however, understanding dawned when news of maiden Daya's entry into the harem reached the people, they finally understood the situation, their lecherous emperor was at it again and the unfortunate target was none other than the eighth prince's beloved maiden, Daya.

The eighth prince was livid, he stormed into the royal palace and the emperor's audience hall to plead his father but was thrown out and on the emperor's command, forced into marriage with the prime minister's daughter and thus the emperor won and the love birds were viciously separated.

Deep within the confines of the emperor's harem, young Daya was devastated and upon hearing of her beloved's marriage to another, young Daya's heart was completely shattered, despite being a cherished and pampered daughter of a noble house, young Daya had always been quite wilfull and so she swore to herself that though her beloved had resigned to his fate, she would never succumb to hers.

From this day, on each visit to his new consort's quarters, the emperor was greeted with a gleaming dagger. The emperor tried all possible means to cajole or intimidate his concubine but all proved futile and after years of fruitless efforts, the emperor flew into a rage at being unable to fulfill his lecherous desires and tossed young Daya into the cold palace, never again to see the light of day.

Unknown to the emperor and the whole Krino kingdom, the eighth prince had been biding his time and making preparations with the aid of the prime minister who was content to see his daughter occupy the throne of empress.

The eighth prince led a rebellion, eliminating the emperor and tossing all the princes into the dungeons. The eighth prince then ascended the throne and became the new emperor of Krino.

The emperor immediately decreed the release of his beloved and named her his noble consort that very night.

This action did not go down well with the people of Krino and public sentiments turned against the new emperor, usurping the throne was one thing, but taking in the previous emperor's consort into his harem was a different thing entirely.

The people said the emperor was fatuous and had insulted the heavens with his actions. Emperor Hugh flew into rage and a great s*******r ravaged the Krino kingdom, thousands were killed and the streets of Krino flowed rivers of blood.

It was at this point that noble consort Daya realized that in the years they were apart, the compassionate eighth prince that had won her heart was long gone, replaced by a blood thirsty tyrant who would stop at nothing to get his way.

Young Daya was at a crossroad, on one hand she wished to turn a blind eye to her beloved's tyranny and continue basking in his love, on the other hand, she could not bear to see so many innocent lives taken simply because they believed the emperor taking her into his harem was an unacceptable act.

Utterly devastated, young Daya decided to end her life, believing that it would all end with her, as once she was dead, the emperor would have no reasons to take anymore lives to defend her honor.

It was at this point that Niyonika was transmigrated into this time line with the mission to eliminate emperor Hugh, Niyonika was appalled to realize that the body she had been transmigrated into was none other than emperor Hugh's beloved, Daya.

Niyonika experienced first hand emperor Hugh's great love for Daya, he doted on her greatly as she had been the first to show him love regardless of his status as the son of a slave girl.

Niyonika came to understand emperor Hugh, he was merely a pitiful soul who had everything taken away from him by his own blood father and could only rage at the whole world, he had been abandoned and betrayed all his life by the very people who were supposed to protect and love him.

Niyonika realized then that not all villains in history had become so by choice, many had been pushed to breaking point by those they trusted and emperor Hugh was one of such.

Niyonika's heart ached greatly for emperor Hugh, for the first time in all her years of emotionlessly fulfilling her mission, Niyonika wanted to do something different, she was willing to do anything that would have prevented emperor Hugh from going down the dark path he had taken, but Niyonika knew it was already too late.

Emperor Hugh was far too gone, history had it that even Daya's death had not stopped him, instead it had led to greater bloodshed as the emperor blamed the people for pushing his beloved into taking her own life.

Niyonika knew there was only one thing she could do to help emperor Hugh and that was to fulfill her mission and prevent him from causing anymore damage, so Niyonika made up her mind and forced away every ounce of hesitation...

With her own sword, Niyonika had pierced emperor Hugh's heart, fulfilling her mission and putting an end to his tyrannical reign, but the final look of pain and betrayal in emperor Hugh's heart was forever imprinted in Niyonika's mind, and for years to come, never would she forget year 753.
