Chapter Fifty-five: Something of True Value.
"I'm still your in-law, Philip... Remember that!" Bill responded defiantly, like an animal backed into a corner.
"Are you?" Philip asked.
The question took Bill unawares. He looked at Philip, stunned.
"But your son married my daughter..." Bill responded like he wanted to be reassured that it was the case.
"I believe you meant to say, your step-daughter, Bill...so me being your in-law is debatable" Philip held a smirk.
Bill hung his head resignedly.
"You're going to destroy my family..." Bill remarked as he exhaled distraughtly.
"Well, that's on you!...for trying to pull a scam on me... The nerve of you, Bill!"
Philip replied as he walked back to his desk.
Bill shook his head and turned towards the door.
Philip observed him from behind
