Fear gripped tightly at Bella’s throat as she watched Reyna standing before her. The vampire was much taller than her, and even though she was standing very still, there was something about her restrained power which drove fear into Bella’s heart.
Her eyes were like a fiery blaze, glowing in the darkness and watching every movement she made. There was something about the way she stared at a person that instantly made them feel like they were being hunted by a vicious predator, one whose cunning and calculating mind could finish them off in a split second.
When she took a step towards Bella, the latter jumped back in terror, trying to rush back to the door. But one flick of Reyna’s hand was all it took, and the doors suddenly slammed shut, with the lock turning instantly.
