Bella woke up to the sound of birds chirping by her window. She opened her eyes slowly, and was surprised to find the sun was shining brightly outside. The air smelled like saltwater once again, and she was reminded instantly of where she was.
How long have I been asleep?
She sat up slowly, wincing slightly but able to lean against the headboard without crying out in pain. She glanced outside the window, and the sky was so blue that it almost seemed unreal. She felt warm, but not so warm that she would break a sweat. Something about the weather was unlike anything she had experienced before, and it was a welcome reprieve from the cold of the manor.
