Aiden could have punched anyone who knocked on the door at that moment, until he realised it was his mother. He could still feel the tension between him and Bella, and he had to stop himself as he pulled away.
He should have smelled her. Now that he wasn’t lost in Bella’s eyes, he could smell her familiar scent, and he couldn’t even hide the fact that he was upset at her interruption.
Bella, on the other hand, looked absolutely terrified. She pulled away from Aiden, her eyes wide in shock and fear. He had to reach out and hold her hand so he could calm her down.
