ALIA'S POV:
I stormed out of the classroom, my heels clicking sharply against the tiled floor. My chest felt tight with anger, my fists clenched at my sides as I replayed the scene in my head. That Brittany girl, whoever she thinks she is, needed to be put in her place.
Bullshit! I thought. How dare she even breathe in the same space as Mycseen?
Mycseen doesn’t talk to me, doesn’t even look my way, no matter how hard I try to get his attention. But on her very first day, I saw him smiling…smiling and speaking to her like she was someone special. What could they have possibly been talking about?
I gritted my teeth, my nails digging into my palms. For months, I’ve done everything to make Mycseen notice me. I’ve laughed at jokes that weren’t funny, dressed my best, and even tried joining the basketball team to be near him. But he ignores me like I don’t exist.
If only he knew how I felt about him, I thought bitterly. If only he could see how much I care.
And now, Brittany, with her sweet, innocent face and timid demeanour, thinks she can waltz in here and take what I’ve been fighting for? Over my dead body.
I slowed my pace as a cruel smile spread across my lips. Oh, Brittany, you’ll regret crossing me. You’ll regret the day you set foot in Dashville High.
I didn’t care if she had done nothing wrong, I had made up my mind. She was a threat, and threats had to be eliminated. I have a plan, I thought with satisfaction. She’ll never see it coming.
I walked briskly through the hallway, ignoring the scattered chatter and laughter of students around me. My destination was clear: the café.
The café was always bustling during recess, filled with the scent of coffee, fries, and burgers. Students crowded around tables, chatting loudly or scrolling through their phones. And there he was...Alex, seated at his usual corner table, leaning back casually with his arms crossed.
I smirked. Alex was the perfect person for this. He was cocky, sarcastic, and always up for trouble. If anyone could help me execute my plan, it was him.
“Hey, Alex,” I said smoothly as I slid into the seat next to him.
He looked up from his phone, his lips curling into a faint smirk. “Alia. To what do I owe the pleasure?”
“How’re you doing?” I asked, keeping my tone light as I leaned forward on the table.
“I’m good. What about you?” he replied, eyeing me curiously.
“Fine,” I said with a shrug. “But I need you to carry out a little plan for me.”
Alex raised an eyebrow, leaning back in his chair. “What does Alia the schemer want from me this time?” he asked, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
I rolled my eyes. “Cut the sarcasm, Alex. This is serious.”
He chuckled, clearly amused by my frustration. “Alright, fine. What’s the plan?”
I leaned closer, lowering my voice. “I’ll tell you when I’m ready. Just get yourself prepared on your end.”
Alex tilted his head, studying me for a moment. “Alright then,” he said, standing up and stretching lazily. “I’ll see you later, Alia. Don’t cause too much trouble without me.”
I watched him walk away, the grin returning to my face. Alex didn’t know the full extent of y plan yet, but he would soon. All I needed was a little time to set everything in motion.
As I left the café, I felt a surge of excitement. My plan was forming perfectly in my mind. Brittany wouldn’t know what hit her. I would make her regret ever stepping into this school, let alone catching Mycseen’s attention.
I’m Alia, and I don’t lose.
The thought filled me with satisfaction. Dashville High was my territory, and I wasn’t about to let some newbie steal my spotlight.
I walked back to the hallway, my steps confident, my head held high. The drama was just beginning, and I couldn’t wait to see how it all unfolded.
