Family and FelonThe next events seemed oddly quick. The second Jonah clicked the Tally, two guards appeared via the Astralimes, commanded both he and Laban don their hoods once more, and then the four of them used the Astralimes to reach the border. Jonah felt two emotions about this situation: amused these guards were leery of walking through the shanties, and secretly relieved he wouldn't have to do it himself a second time.
At the border itself, Elijah released them all, looking at Jonah with newfound respect as he did so. The look he gave Laban, on the other hand, was a combination of disdain, caution, mistrust, and maybe a little fear.
“Great work, boy,” he told Jonah. “I have to admit I had my doubts. Kinda felt like I was throwing a mouse into a snake pit.”
