Jonah's expression soured. “Vera has made it clear—” he began heatedly, but Liz cut him off.
“Vera's made nothing clear, because you've hardly spoken to her since November!” she exclaimed. “She's been almost a non-entity to you since the moment you found out she had a new man in her life, Jonah, and don't you dare say that's not true!”
Jonah looked up at the ceiling and sucked in air through his nostrils. “Liz, Reena is in the infirmary right now—”
