The training a wolf receives is determined by the elders of the group. Elders never go on missions. They help the alpha by giving advice when needed, and deciding what type of training each new recruit should have. They start with questions, almost like what-if scenarios. Then, a physical test, followed by another set of questions. Everyone's test is different, but only the Elders are allowed to speak of the test itself. Alpha gives a strict order of silence about the tests, nobody cares to learn why.
As the last few members arrived, my recollection was interrupted. The meeting would start soon. Every member with a title was required to be here, the omegas were off in training, not to be disturbed. We had more omegas in our pack than those with rank. So far we were up to twenty with titles, and thirty-four omegas.
Some omegas would prolong their training in hopes of getting a better title than they were chosen to go for. Sometimes it worked, but more than often, they would fail. Some decided to stay an omega so they didn't have any jobs they were sent on, but those wolves usually became rogue after a while. They lacked discipline and honor.
"Thank you all for coming so quickly." Leonard's voice rung in my head, cutting off my memories.
Looking around, I missed the faces and muzzles I seen. It had been a long time for some of them. Leonard was standing on the back patio of the manor. To his left was Melissa. To his right, Cedric. Cedric had a threatening presence. He was tall, standing at 6'1", barely shorter than his father. Cedric was the son of Leonard and Melissa. He was also our lead warrior and Leonard's beta. The only one stronger than me, other than the alpha himself.
Cedric was attractive, in his own way. He was very tan, mainly spent his time outdoors. Broad shouldered, blue eyes, dirty blonde hair cut very short. A short goatee framed his mouth and chin perfectly. He seen his fair share of fights, and anyone could tell. A long scar stretched from under his left eye, curving with his neck, and finally ended mid chest. His biceps were the size of my legs, he was the true picture of strength.
"Nikita has found her mate," Leonard's words echoed in my head, while howls and cheers were heard around. "He's human."
Human. The word pierced me like a knife. Cheers and howls turned to snarls and accusations. I knew they wouldn't approve. If anything, I will leave them for Robbie. I know he isn't cut out for this.
"How did this happen?" Claire took a step forward as she sadly asked. I took a liking to Claire. Her wolf was small, but she was fast. Not the strongest, but she didn't need to be. The hairs on her neck was standing. Her black claws dug into the ground a bit. She wasn't happy. Claire's wolf form was basic, just a small white wolf with grey throughout. She could be indistinguishable from wolves in the wild, but she was just a bit bigger. No human would be able to tell the difference, and she was in wolf form most of the time. She was the only tracker we had left.
"There's always a reason, but we have to come to a decision. No human is to know of our presence, now one of our own has mated with one. What does the pack feel we should do?" Leonard asked everyone. He's always been about what's best for the pack. Most meetings consisted of one question to everyone, and we always had an order of our answers.
"Kill him." Cedric answered first. He was ruthless, showed no mercy.
"He cannot be trusted. Kill him." Melissa answered next.
I snarled at both of them. They knew it would mean I would feel like a piece of myself died as well. I would not let them, if there were ten answers to kill him, I would run. I looked at Robbie, he was standing beside me, starstruck by the furious looks he was receiving.
"He's Nikita's mate guys, let them be happy together." Claire. She was always so nice.
"Leave them be." Hannah stepped forward as she answered. She was in her human form, wearing a long silky sapphire dress, clinging to her feminine and well-shaped form. She had short brown hair, cut off at her shoulders, and green eyes that looked into your soul. Standing at five foot and nine inches, she towered above me, but she never made me feel inadequate. She was also one of our healers. I nodded my head toward the kind girls.
"Kill the human." Of course Michael would say that. He was another cold-hearted guy. I was surprised to see him in human form. Outdoor type, very tan, stood five foot eight with dark black long hair. He was the fourth warrior, behind Kyle. A long beard made him look scruffy, like nobody would want to mess with him if they seen him. He kinda reminded me of the cliche of bikers, but I never wanted to say that to him. I honestly think he would rather hunt wild animals than eat anything prepared though.
I looked at Robbie, he showed no fear, but something looked off. Having three kill decisions made things much more complicated. I'm not sure if I can run from everyone, especially carrying Robbie. I looked around the group, and instantly stopped on Hunter. Hunter was the biggest jerk of the pack. He hated everyone, everything, and did his missions with more force than ever necessary. He was the fifth warrior in line, and always challenged anyone ahead of him any chance he got. If he were to defeat me, he would become second warrior.
He was pissing me off, because he was snarling with his fangs completely bared in my direction. Hunter was in his wolf form, and stood about six inches shorter than my own. His eyes were dark with hate, and his fur was the bloodiest red stain I'd ever seen on a wolf. I'm not entirely sure if he just stayed in wolf form, and never cleaned the blood off him, or if that was his true color. Some brown swirls peek from behind the reds.
My mind filled with call outs, more quickly now. "Kill. Kill. Kill. Leave. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Leave. Kill. Kill."
Damnit! Now what do I do? I started to shove my head in Robbie's direction to throw him onto my back, he'd received ten kill decisions. He'd be killed! As I grabbed ahold of Robbie's shirt, Hunter leapt my way. He'd been given enough incentive to strike.
I let go of Robbie's shirt and crashed into Hunter. I will do whatever I have to, to protect my mate. Even if it means breaking my alpha's rules. No wolf was allowed to intervene after a decision had been made. I would be killed too now. This is what I wanted though. I had no possible chance of escaping them, and how could I live in a world where he didn't exist? I'd fight my hardest, so they kill me faster.
As my fangs dug into Hunter's neck, I felt bites everywhere. All four paws had a wolf on it. They threw me to the ground, and held me down. I closed my eyes, this is where they will end my life. I decided to take one last look at Robbie before I was killed.
A growl ripped through the wind, sending shivers down my spine. My eyes fell on Robbie's form, his skin didn't look right. He looked like he was...
No! He can't be! Robbie was shifting in front of my eyes. His body curved toward the ground, then his back arched as he loudly howled. His face started to take form of a wolf as his clothes shred from his body. A bright Red fur became dominant, but his face, his left eye and ear was black. His legs were black from the joint down to his claws. My heart became a flutter again. His wolf was the most beautiful thing I'd ever laid eyes on.
Robbie's wolf radiated power. He was at least a foot bigger than myself. His power made each member that was holding me, instantly release me to look at him. Things had changed. In an instant, he is no longer a human, so the decisions held no value anymore. There was still one problem.
I had attacked during a decision. I could still possibly be killed due to the rules placed by the alpha. Robbie was still snarling at Hunter, which I'm sure makes Hunter want to kill him even more now. Hunter leapt toward Robbie. Robbie didn't fight though, he evaded every attack directed his way. I'm sure he understands that this is my pack, and that we are mates.
I'm sure, the instant he looked at me through his wolf's eyes, he felt that pull. The insurmountable bond we have now. And now he understands why I was so willing to be his in every way, and the intimacy we shared. He will want me forever now. I don't have to wonder what life would be like without him now, I'd have to do something to stay alive though.
I slowly stood up and faced toward Robbie and Hunter still dancing around the huge field. He was beautiful, majestic, perfect.
"Please stop Hunter," I pleaded. "Robbie doesn't seem to be fighting back, he would make a great ally of yours."
"Everyone stop. Put your petty squabble aside and stand down Hunter." Leonard ordered. Hunter hung his head, but reluctantly moved back to his position in the meeting. Robbie turned toward Leonard now, no fangs, no hate in his eyes, and bowed his head low.
I turned to face Leonard, thinking of how to fix my transgression. Should I plead for forgiveness using my rank? Can I get through to Leonard if I play on his feelings? He has last say on if I get killed or shunned from the pack. Slowly walking toward him, head as low as I possibly could have it, I talked to Leonard.
"Alpha, please forgive me for my outburst, my life is yours to take."
"Before I make my decision, I need you to answer a question honestly for me." Leonard crossed his arms as he glared at me.
"I will be completely honest." I replied.
"Why did you attack, when you knew the punishment was death?" Leonard's words cut through me. I didn't want to tell him the truth, but I had to. I gave him my word.
"I knew I couldn't fight all of you and keep Robbie from harm. Nor could I escape with Robbie on my back. I had hoped to be killed before he was, he had been human. He wouldn't have shattered like I would have." I raised my head as I spoke the last words. "I didn't want to watch him die."
"Robbie?" Leonard looked at the huge wolf standing behind me, still bowing in Leonard's direction. His eyes slowly raised to look into Leonard's. "You must have figured by now, you have shifted into your wolf form. We had actually just came to the conclusion to kill you because no human is to know of our existence. When you changed, so did the decision to kill you. Now you can either join our pack, or possibly find one on your own."
Leonard stepped off the patio, and walked past me.
"I'm sure that by now, you also know that Nikita is your mate." As Leonard spoke the words, Robbie looked at me. I could see the love in his eyes for me. It reminded me of the glimmer I noticed in his eye before, when I didn't understand what it was. It was really his love. Even when he had no idea, he couldn't escape his feelings for me. "I have decided to spare her, I know what it would be like for me to be told that Melissa was to die. I would fight until they killed me. I could never watch her die. So, if you are willing, you can be one of us. We will wait for you to shift before we discuss this further."
I was being spared? I may be able to have my happy ending! To live with my mate. If I hadn't been in wolf form, I'm sure I'd be crying right now. Pure joy was about to make my heart burst.
"Thank you alpha." I spoke to Leonard with a bow.
"I understand, but that doesn't excuse your actions. You will be on probation for a week, starting tomorrow."
Probation was the worst. That meant I would not be allowed to go out in missions, and have to check in with the alpha every hour other than when sleeping. But I'm glad to do it if it means I get to spend time with my mate finally.
"Yes alpha." I replied. I needed to spend time with Robbie though. Him being in his wolf form was making my own wolf want him more. But for now, I just wanted to run through the woods and enjoy time with him. "Do you mind if Robbie and I go for a run?"
"Yes, you and Robbie go for a run, he needs to get exhausted to change back anyways." Leonard spoke to both Robbie and me.
When a wolf changes and doesn't know how to shift on command, we have to completely tire ourselves out to be able to shift back. It was a long process sometimes, and I've known some to take a full day to transform back. The more powerful you are, the longer it takes usually. The more strenuous activities you do while in wolf form, helps you change back quicker. It took me eighteen hours, which is one reason why the elders believed I could be a very good warrior. I had run until I finally dropped, being brought back to the manor by Kyle. Now it was my turn to take care of Robbie. We'd run until he couldn't run any more.
I shifted as fast as I could and ran inside for some clothes. I grabbed some of my larger unisex clothes for Robbie, tied them all to my leg, and ran back outside. Robbie was looking at me, everyone else had already left.
"Let's run until you shift back, if we have a fight, we can make you shift faster, but I won't hurt you." I told him before shifting once again.
I walked toward Robbie. I slowly nuzzled into his neck and pushed his face toward the woods. His large head followed my guidance, and I started to walk toward the trees. He was following, same speed, so I picked up my pace. I knew to take it slow at first, it can sometimes be awkward to run the first time you shift, trying to get used to being on all fours.
He picked up his pace as we got into the underbrush, his red fur glistened in the sun each time it peeked behind the trees. I nipped at his legs and ran past him. Teasing him to follow. I want to see his true potential, test his limits.
My four legs carried me swiftly through the forest. As I looked behind me, Robbie was keeping pace with me. He didn't seem to be overdoing anything, so I sped up to my maximum speed. I may not be the fastest, but the strength in my legs helped me take long strides. Robbie was still keeping up with me. After a few minutes of running, Robbie flew past me. His speed was incredible, he was actually letting himself go all out.
He was so much further ahead of me, if he kept this speed, he'd lose me quickly. I howled to let him know I was unable to follow his movements, and I heard him turn around to come back toward me. When he reached me, we both stopped. He was looking at me with pure curiosity. Before I knew it, he lunged.
I was shocked at first, but I knew he wouldn't be able to hurt me. I think he wants to test himself against me. I easily dodged his preemptive strike, and turned toward him to show him my skill. We jumped toward each other at the same time, colliding in the air, no teeth or claws, just our strength would be used in this scuffle. He was pretty strong, but I shoved him into the ground with a small chuckle. He jumped back to his feet, shaking the dirt from his fur.
Before he could jump again, I smelled another presence nearby. As I turned toward the intruder, Robbie realized the change in me and looked toward the same direction. A growl ripped from my throat, I would not allow my perfect ending to be shattered. As I was getting ready to attack, a small woman with gray hair stepped out from behind a tree. As soon as I seen her eyes, blue with green flecks, I knew exactly who she was.
It was the little old lady I met in the grocery store! Why was she in the woods? And why would she approach two large wolves that were in the midst of a sparring match? She didn't smell like a wolf, but why wasn't she afraid?
"I see you've finally awakened, Robbie" She said with a bow. "I'm so sorry for my rudeness, my name is Miriam. I am Robbie's great grandmother. I know that you have changed recently, so you may not be able to shift right now. Please, when you have rested after shifting, find me at this address. You can come by anytime."
As she said the last words, she laid a piece of paper on the ground. As quickly as she appeared, she walked away and I couldn't track her movements again. All signs of her presence was gone. I shifted and grabbed the piece of paper from the ground. I turned toward Robbie, seeing the confusion in his eyes, I held the piece of paper up toward him.
1121 Blecker Drive. Both of you come.
"As soon as we get you shifted and rested up, we will go see her. But first we need to do whatever we can to completely exhaust your wolf." I said to Robbie, knowing he couldn't reply to me. "We both want answers, and I'm sorry, but you'll have to wait."
Robbie's eyes held mine for a moment, then he nodded his head. We would have to try to do this quickly if possible. I shifted back into my wolf, and went in for an attack. The fastest way to tire him out would be a good fight. I knew I'd hurt him if I went all out, but I needed him to not hold back.
I decided not to use my claws or teeth, but I crashed into his side, sending him flying into the nearest tree. He took a moment to stand up, and jumped back toward me, I dodged it and crashed into his side again, throwing him to the ground. I felt bad for hurting him, but it would help speed things up.
Finally, after six hours of fighting, Robbie fell asleep in his wolf form on the ground. I knew it wouldn't take long, so I shifted back into my human form, untied the clothes from my leg, and dressed slowly. I'd watch over him until he woke up.
After what seemed like an hour, probably only thirty minutes, Robbie's body slowly returned to his human form. He woke up shortly after, stretching out his body. He looked like a god waking from a nap.
"Good morning sleepy-head," I giggled. "I brought some clothes, but I don't know if they will fit very well."
"Anything is fine, we can pick something up for me in a bit. Now, I think we need to have a small chat. Did you know I was your mate?" He asked me with a small smirk on his face.
"Yes, I knew as soon as I seen you stepping out of Lee's car. Every wolf knows by first sight if it is their mate, I'm very sorry I couldn't have been honest from the start, but we thought you were human and-"
Before I finished my rambling, Robbie wrapped his arms around me. He leaned down and kissed me more passionately than I'd ever known a kiss could be. Once he broke the kiss, he leaned his head down to my neck.
"Nikita, I know this mate feeling is very strong. I love you with every cell in my body, and I will always be here for you. If you want me to join your pack, you say the word. I'll do whatever you want." Robbie whispered into my neck.
"I think we should see what Miriam has to say before you make any decisions. She is your great grandmother, she may have answers." I replied swiftly.
"Oh! I almost forgot!" Robbie stepped away and dressed quickly.
"I can run us back to the manor to get you some clothes that fit and maybe a shower, if you want." I half asked.
"That sounds great. We have time to talk later, I'd love to know what Miriam says." Robbie was radiating excitement. I wonder if he ever knew anything about his family? Why did they hide him from his own kind?
I undressed and shifted to my wolf. Robbie hopped on my back with ease, and I took off running. We quickly returned to the yard that was once filled with wolves, and found nobody. I shifted again and walked toward the french back doors, leading Robbie by hand.
"We can go to my room." I said as we turned down the hall. When we got to the door, I opened it while looking into Robbie's eyes. He looked around with large eyes, taking in the whole room.
"It's beautiful." He said quietly. He walked over to the bed and rubbed his hand across the sheets. "Silk has always been my favorite, and the colors remind me of your wolf. Everything about you is beautiful."
I was blushing by the time he turned around, I could feel my cheeks getting hot. I grabbed his had, and led him toward the bathroom. I opened the door to the shower, and turned the water on to the same spot as always, not too hot, not too cold. Grabbing a couple towels, I turned around to see Robbie undressing. Just seeing him shirtless made wetness spread between my legs. He took off his pants, and went straight into the shower. I tore my clothes off and got in right behind him.
The water felt nice after being in wolf form for so long. Robbie turned to face me, and wrapped me in his arms. I put my arms around him and stood under the water, listening to his heartbeat. It was starting to pick up pace, and I could feel his big member growing against my stomach. He raised a hand to my chin and lifted my head to look at him.
"I love you Nikita, I never knew someone could love another this deeply." Robbie said with all the emotion in his voice.
"I love you too Robbie, and I will never hurt you. We are mates, we have a bond that can never be broken. I'm yours until the day I die." I replied.
Then his hands found their way down me back, resting on my plump ass. He squeezed both cheeks at the same time, and started kissing me passionately.
"Don't you want to get to Miriam's?" I asked, wanting him to say no. We needed to see her though.
"We have some time, it is only around supper time. She did say to come by anytime, we will go after we get some much needed time together."
He didn't have to finish, I crashed my body back into his and started kissing him deeply. One hand found it's way to his throbbing organ quickly, and I slowly started stroking him. He let out a small moan against my lips, as his hands explored my body. He was hungry for me, I could feel it.
Robbie got more aggressive, he started biting on my neck, down to my collar bone, down my left breast, and reached my n****e. He started licking, sucking, and nibbling on it with perfect movements. One of his hands found it's way between my legs, sliding up toward my wetness. He slowly played with my c******s, wanting me to enjoy everything. A moan escaped my lips as one finger slid deep inside me. He started pulling the finger out to the end, then shoved it all the way back in quickly, while still playing with my nub with his other hand.
He pushed another finger inside, spreading my p***y, getting it ready for his huge length. He bent his fingers inside me and started moving them against a spot that made me scream out in pleasure.
"I'm going to c*m baby!" I quickly told him before cumming all over his hand.
He slowly pulled his hand to his face and licked his finger, shoved it in his mouth and sucked my juices from it. The sight of it made me want more. Before I had time to do anything, he grabbed me and spun me around. The wall was cold against my t**s, but I didn't care at this point. He stood behind me and put his throbbing member at my entrance.
He shoved his hips forward and I felt the head brush my c**t, making me squirm with excitement. Robbie then pulled back, repositioned, and gently slid his massive length inside me. I moaned against the wall, feeling the vibration in my hands, as he moaned into my neck.
"f**k, you are so tight, love." He exclaimed before thrusting his hips back and forth. He started picking up speed and I pushed back against his frame with each thrust, in sync with his movements.
His movements started getting less in rhythm, like he was getting closer to climaxing. As I was about to c*m once again, Robbie bit into the side of my neck. I screamed in pleasure and came on him, as I felt warmth spread through my body. I felt every pulse of his d**k as he came deep inside me.
"I'm sorry if I hurt you, I'm not sure why I bit you like that," Robbie said as he pulled himself out of me. I felt his juices run down my leg and get rinsed away by the water.
"It's a normal wolf thing, you marked me as your mate." I stated, as I turned around to face him.
"Oh, so now everyone will know you are mine?"
"Only wolves will," I explained. "Humans won't be able to even see it. But, I guess anything classified supernatural would probably be able to see it. I'm not completely sure, I've heard stories of other beings, but never met anything else."
"Oh, well, we better get cleaned up and go meet Miriam." Robbie told me as he started washing himself.
We quickly got finished washing, rinsed off, and wrapped ourselves in towels. We walked into the bedroom, and laying on the bed was a duffle bag. I opened it, and clothes that looked Robbie's size were neatly folded inside. We each got dressed and were ready to leave when a knock was heard at the door.
"Yes?" I asked, contemplating who it could be.
"I heard you wanted to go somewhere, I had the car brought around for you." Kyle's voice emanated from the other side.
"Oh! Thank you Kyle" I quickly said and grabbed my phone and the note that had Miriam's address on it.
We exited my room and walked the halls to the front door. Waiting at the edge of the steps was a black convertible sports car, with silver rims. I hurried to the driver seat and got in. While Robbie got in the passenger side, I put the address into the GPS, it was only a forty-five minute drive.
"Are you ready for what she has to say?" I asked Robbie, making sure he wanted to do this right now.
"Completely. Let's go see my grandmother."
"Okay, let's go." I said as I pushed the car into drive and sped off.
We were about to learn about Robbie's family and wolves. I had no idea what was in store for us. I only hoped that everything would be put into perspective and that it wasn't a trick. Even if it was a trick, I'm sure Robbie and I together could handle ourselves after the power I felt behind his attacks earlier. He wasn't trying to hurt me, but he hit harder than I had expected. I was so proud that he was mine.
As we drove, the sinking feeling of this being a trap disappeared, and was replaced with anticipation to learn more about his heritage. I could see in the corner of my eye, Robbie looked worried and excited at the same time. Maybe he was worried too.
"No matter what happens, I'm here for you, and will never leave your side. I love you." I said with all my heart, grabbing his hand and giving it a small squeeze.
"I love you too Nikita. Nothing will change that." Robbie returned my squeeze, and we raced toward Miriam's address.
