I had a bunch in my hand. It was like the 20th rose I had received from random people walking down the hall. All of them giving me weird, starry-eyed it made grimace. It felt like a reincarnation of some sappy bad TV romance. Nothing awaited me at the end of the walk, but a desperate teenage boy that sucked the energy out of me.
All eyes are on me as I walk with my friends. Sarah and Mike laughing quietly amongst themselves like they were watching the greatest comedy scenes unfold. “Someone’s popular among the fellows? Who’s your new suitor now?” Sarah asks nudging my arms.
