Simon PoV:
I followed him around the school after that class ended. Surprisingly he's not being that mean to me anymore, he just let me walk beside him to his next class. I got a free period so I got all the time in the world to talk to him.
"So is he like your best friend? or brother? or maybe he is your boyfriend..."
"I like you more when you're quiet," he said suddenly. He tried to walk faster to avoid me again but I catch up pretty quickly with his step. "Why are you following me again?."
"Well, I thought you and I can befriend."
"I don't need a new friend I already have-" he got cut off by a voice calling his name from across the hall.
The voice comes from the same guy that walk whit Kenny back then. I don't like his vibe his hair looks like cotton candy. "Hey! what are you doing here class about to start," the guy said wrapping his arm around Kenny's shoulder.
"Same goes to you."
"You know? what if we skip class, me, you, and..." he looked at me confused.
"Simon."
"SiMoN! We should skip class together. And before you got mad at me I got a fake permission slip just in case, now come on!" he drags Kenny and me down the empty hall. Running before the teacher caught us. Who did he think is can just running around like this.
Don't know where we are heading I just follow his every step trying not to fall, he brings us to the top floor of the first school building. I've never been here before, I mean who would have. The hall on the top floor is dim there's no enough light to brighten up the place. Not to mention the scary story that Agnes's sister likes to tell us about.
He brings out a lock pic from his bags and tried to unlock a door, like in those detective and crime movies. He manages to open it, I looked at him surprised. But not Kenny I figure he has probably seen him do this before.
The door leads to a dark stairway. "Me lady," he said revering to Kenny. Kenny rolled his eyes and walk upstairs, followed by me. Behind me, he closed the door and leaving no light for us to see anything but pitch-black.
"Come on now," He said his voice come from in front of me and suddenly there a sound of a door being open and bringing out the light to my eyes, burning it. When I step out turns out he brought us to a school rooftop. There's no much to see but two chairs, a carpet, and an umbrella. I don't even know we have access to the school rooftop.
"What's is this place?" I asked him.
"This is where Kenny and I used to skip class. My name is Mathew by the way."
"I should be in class instead we haven't been here since last year there's dust everywhere."
"Oh come on we have lunch next no biggie even Simon has a free period, right Simon?."
"Ri...right, why are you bringing me here?"
"Kenny told me that you have been following him around. So why don't we get to know each other," he said smiling. I can't tell if it was genuine or not. I feel like he's about to beat me up for being a nuisance to his friend.
"So Simon tell me why do you want to get close to Kenny?"
"Well... I mean... I'm not exactly sure but I just know that I want to be around him," my face turned red from ear to ear.
Kenny looks at me confused. "any other reason," Mathew asks again.
I look at him nervously, trying to found a definite answer but before I can answer the question. My phone rings. It's Mark. "I'm sorry it's my friend he probably looking for me, I think I should go. See you later," I ran downstairs.
Kenny PoV:
I don't really like it here, the hot bright sun burning my pale skin, it's all dusty after summer ended. No one has ever been here not even the janitor. This place is basically non-existence until Mathew and I found it last year. We have relocated our hang out place to the music room since I become the vice president. But it's peaceful here. Even though now I have to listen to these two idiots talking about nonsense.
" I just know that I want to be around him." I look at him surprised. That guy can't be serious.
Why would anyone want to be around me, haven't I look intimidating enough? I should probably get a tattoo like Mathew so people will actually stop talking to me. Though I'll never get the end of it if my mom ever founds out.
"I think I should go. See you later." finally.
After Simon runs downstair closing the door too hard making the dust blows everywhere, Mathew looks at me with a cheeky smile of his. "what?" I asked him annoyed.
"I think he likes you."
"shut up, no he didn't even if he do so what? I don't like him."
"Aww come on you've been single for a while now and I think you two will look cute together." He encourages me.
It's true I haven't been in a relationship since my ugly break up 2 years ago. I dated an older person and of course, he cheated on me. I've learned and healed from that but the thought of relationship still scare me. Or maybe should I open up to him?
