Maddison had become invincible in the art of video games. Apart from the defeat to Max in which she claimed her concentration waned a little bit, Maddison had never previously tasted defeat in video games. The very first time Maddison said she wanted to play video games, she walked up to Mr Riecke and Max who were playing a game of Sonic the Hedgehog in the living room. On making her request to play, Mr Riecke and Max laughed loudly at the young girl who remained calm through all the abasement.
