Chapter One –
Kayla's POV
“Mr. Vance, I can explain—”.
“Explain what?”. His voice was low and controlled and that made everything worse.
“That you sent three months of acquisition strategy to your boss's competitor? That you handed me everything I need to destroy Marcus Hartley’s next quarter?”.
My throat tightened. “It was an accident. I was forwarding documents to Marcus and I must have—I don't know how—I clicked your name instead. It was a slip. One moment of —”.
“One moment”. He pushed off the desk and deliberately walked towards me slowly. “One moment that cost your CEO millions. One moment that makes me wonder whose side you're really on”.
My heart thumped with every step he took towards me.
_
The moment I had stepped through Julian's office door, I knew I'd made a mistake and not just the email.
I had found him waiting for me while leaning against his desk in a charcoal suit that fitted him too damn well.
He had his arms crossed and eyes dark with something unreadable.
_
I backed up until my spine hit the door and his body followed. The heat that seeped into my thin blouse through the expensive wool of his jacket was surprising.
I could even smell him.
“I'm not on anyone's side”, I whispered. “I just made a mistake”.
“Mistakes have consequences, Kayla”.
My name on his lips sent a shiver down my neck. He had never called me by my first name before. I had only ever been Miss Reynolds in passing or the assistant in meetings.
But now…I was…Kayla?
“What are you going to do?”. I asked, my voice cracking. “Report me to Marcus so he can fire me?”.
“Report you?”. A humorless smile flickered across his mouth. “And why would I do that? Tell my enemy his secretary sent me top secret valuable information I could use to destroy him? No”.
I opened my mouth to speak but then his hands were on my hip, fingers digging into the curve of my waist.
“What the hell?”. I yelled when he turned me, fast, and my cheek slammed against the wood panel of the door.
“Julian, what are you doing? Let me go!”.
His forearm pinned my shoulder blades as he bent me forward, forcing my ass against the hardening line of his trousers.
“Giving you the positive consequence of your mistake, Kayla”. He pressed the hard line more into my ass, causing my eyes to flutter close.
“Julian—”. My voice was breathless. f**k, I hated it. I hated him.
He leaned over my back. “Quiet”. He said, his breath hot against my ear. “I've always wondered what it would feel like to take what belonged to Marcus”.
“I don't belong to—”.
“Quiet”. He said again and pressed into me harder, causing my p***y to clench emptily.
No, this man was supposed to be my boss’s enemy, I wasn't supposed to be gettyturned on but I was.
“I have his top secret strategy and now, his pretty secretary”.
My skirt was already riding up.
“Stop”. But it came out weak.
He only chuckled and I felt his free hand slide beneath the hem of the skirt. He placed his palm against my thigh then dragged higher until his fingers found the damp heat between my legs.
He grunted and the sound made my stomach clench.
“Wet already. Did you want this, Kayla?” Did you send that mail hoping I'd call you here?”.
“No—I didn't—ah—”. His thumb circled me c**t through the soaked fabric my panties, and my denial dissolved into a sharp gasp.
“Liar”. He growled, hooking my lace aside and pressing two fingers inside me without warning.
“Oh f**k”. I cried out, arching my back but his weight held me in place. “You've tbeen walking past my office for six months. You knew exactly what you were doing”.
“I didn't”. I sobbed, but my hips rolled against his hand. “f**k, Julian, please—”.
“Please what?”. He withdrew his fingers and I heard the slick sound as he unbuckled his belt. “Please stop? Or please f**k you like the traitor that you are?”.
I couldn't answer, I just stayed with my forehead pressed against the cool wood, my eyes shut, and my breath ragged.
But I knew I should have fought or maybe even run but my body was trembling with something that felt like…want?
He pulled my panties down my thighs and I heard the rustle of his zipper then the wet sound of him stroking himself once, twice, and then the blunt pressure of his c**k was at my entrance.
“This is a breach of trust”, he murmured in a rough voice as he tapped his c**k on my entrance then rubbed it. “Mmm…”.
“Tsssss…”. I bit my lower lip.
“And I will have you understand exactly how I intend to appreciate your loyalty”.
He pushed inside me in one hard seamless thrust.
“Ahhhh!....”. I screamed but quickly covered a hand over my mouth, though I knew that no one would hear.
No one else was on his floor.
His hips kept slamming against my ass, filling me completely.
“Oh god—Julian—f**k—you’re so—deep—”.
“That's right”. His hand tangled in my hair yanking my head back so he could see my face. My mouth fell open as he drove into me again. “I want to hear you say my name when you come. I want Marcus to know that even his little assistant belongs to me now”.
“Uhhhh yeahhh….ohhhhh….fuck…this is—ahhhh”.
The rhythm was brutal, fast, punishing, and relentless. Each thrust pushed me harder against the door, as the angle hit something inside me that made stars burst behind my eyelids.
“Oh f**k!”. I couldn't think, neither could I breathe.
All I could do was feel the weight of him, the heat of him, and the way his breath stuttered against my neck every time I clenched around him.
“Please”, I gasped, not knowing what I was begging for. “Please —oh f**k—I’m—I’m going to—”.
“Come for me Kayla. Now”.
His voice was a command and my body obeyed before my mind could even catch up. The orgasm ripped through me like a wave but my scream was muffled by the door as my knees buckled.
He held me up and kept driving into me through the aftershocks, groaning as I tightened around him.
“Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!”. He kept slamming in and out.
“Ahhhh, oh f**k!”. I shuddered, p***y clenching around him violently this time.
“That's it”, he growled. “That's my good little traitor”.
I sobbed against the wood as I kept trembling.
He finally pulled out slowly, and I heard him fasten his trousers before I dared to open my eyes.
When I finally opened my eyes and turned, he was watching me with that same dark and unreadable look.
“Arrange yourself”, he said, already walking back to his desk. “And close the door on your way out. We're not done discussing your loyalty”.
My legs shook as I pulled up my panties, smoothed my skirt, and tucked the silk blouse back into place. I could still feel him inside me and the ghost of his rhythm still pulsed between my thighs.
As I reached for the door handle, his voice
stopped me.
“Kayla”.
I looked back only to see that he was now leaning back in his chair, with a faint smile playing at the corner of his mouth.
“If you ever send me something that valuable again, I'll expect a longer meeting. Understand?”.
I swallowed and nodded not sure if he was telling me to breach my boss's trust again so this would end up happening again.
But I wasn't sure if I would let it.
But Marcus was never going to find out.
