This series of questions kept running through my mind and shifted my attention from the food I was eating. I recalled her not leaving yet until she had done her work, but such urgency was killing me. Meanwhile, Lia seemed to enjoy the steak dishes very much and the wine that matched.
I snapped from my thoughts when I heard Lia's voice." Andrew...Andrew! You're spacing out". She sounded amused but there was a hint of irritation in her voice.
"I'm sorry. I was just thinking about the board meeting in two days." I lied.
"By the way, if you're done eating, perhaps, we can leave. I need to check on something. It's urgent." I intentionally mad
