(Yemisi in the classroom and already in a deep thought of what happened at home while the teacher was lecturing. The teacher noticed her) Mrs Babalola: Yemisi! What are you thinking about? Can you explain what i have been saying since? Yemisi: (Scared) I'm sorry ma. I don't know. Mrs Babalola: (Surprised) How come you were not listening to what I have been saying? Come here right away. (Yemisi moves to her table) Yemisi, what is wrong with you? This is not who you are. Why are you not concentrating on class? Yemisi: Nothing ma. Mrs Babalola: Nothing? Yemisi: Yes ma. Mrs Babalola: (Holds her hand) Look at my face. Don't worry you can trust me. Yemisi: (Tears rolled down from her face) My father married another wife because my mother didn't give birth to a male child that he wanted. Now, he has given us a week to pack out of his house to a rented apartment. He now values is new wife and the son that he is expecting from her more than us because we are females.We mean nothing to him. Mrs Babalola: (Feeling sorry for her) It's a pity that men in our society thinks in this manner. I wish they knew better. But my dear, the only way to prove him wrong is to face your studies and study as hard as you can. Do you understand me? Yemisi: Yes ma. Mrs Babalola: Good girl. Now clean your tears away. Yemisi: (Clean her tears with her hand) Thank you so much ma for your advice. I feel better now. I will do my best to prove to him that girls can also be great in life. Mrs Babalola: (Faced the class) Class, I want to give you guys some advice. You all should face your studies. Don't allow what you are passing through at home, hinder you from becoming what you want to become in life. Education is the only key to success. If you are facing any challenges in life or at home or you have been told that you can't become successful in life, don't mind them. Don't be dejected. The wings that you need to fly high in life is the wings of education. If you have education, your life will go smoothly. That's all I have for you. Class: Thank you ma! (They clapped for their teacher and they started another lecture) Light out....
