The Father's Choice

Act 8 Scene 2

(At Yemisi's school, there was an award presentation party. Guests from different places from all over the world)

Principal:

It's a thing of joy to withness today which the students that submitted their projects last week as been expecting. So we will call our guest of honour to come and announce the scores of the students, so that we will know our champions. With clapping, let us welcome Professor Kunle Williams. (Everyone stands to their feet clapping as he walks up to the stage)

Professor Kunle Williams:

Thank you.(They stopped clapping and sits down).

We thank the almighty God for the success of this competition. Boys has been the ones winning this competition from five years ago that we started it. But it looks like our girls are back. They want to take over this time around. (Girls shouts in joy) Yeah, because all the names am seeing here are female's name if am not mistaken.

Mama Yemisi and Iyawo:

(Raised their hands up and faces heaven and started praying that the name of Yemisi should be there. Yemisi is also getting scared)

Professor Kunle Williams:

So, the third position goes to Ibukun Adegboyegba from Ogun state. (Everybody claps for the girl as she moves forward).

The second position goes to Anuoluwapo Olayinka from Osun state. (Everybody claps for the girl as she moves forward).

Now, for our champion. The first position. (Yemisi and her group member has started crying) It looks like she's not the only one. I call on Yemisi Ibidapo and her group members from Oyo states.

(Mama Yemisi, Iyawo, Yemisi and her group members jumps up for Joy as they walk forward to the stage to receive their rewards)

Mama Yemisi:

Thank God. My enemies has been put to shame.

Professor Kunle Williams:

For the third position, you will be given a sum of Five Hundred dollars. For the second position, you will be given a sum of Six hundred dollars and a full scholarship to study any course at any university of your choice in Nigeria. And for our champions, you all will be given a sum of One thousand dollars each and a full scholarship to study any course at any university in the world. Thank you. (They all shouts for Joy and rejoice)

Mama Yemisi:

(In tears of joy while Iyawo wipes her face with a handkerchief)
