*Caleb* I can’t believe what just happened. My heart is still pounding like a drum in my chest, each beat a reminder of the rage that coursed through me just moments ago. I can still see my father’s face, that twisted smirk, the way he belittled everything I’ve worked for. I shove my hands deep into my pockets, pacing the sandy beach like a caged animal, trying to shake off the adrenaline, but it lingers, a bitter aftertaste in my mouth.
