“How far?” The ship shuddered and Bassan’s step faltered. Even Witz glanced around with wide eyes. “They’ve closed the hatch,” Zendar said. “We’ll be taking off soon.” He cut a sharp right and down the single corridor. Up ahead, it ended in another closed door. “That’s it?” Witz said. “That’s it.” “What is it?” Bassan said. His lack of knowledge regarding this mission grated on his nerves. I should’ve demanded more details. “The airlock where they hold prisoners. They always load it first. We might have company, Witz.” The man unzipped his jumpsuit and retrieved his weapon. “Then we’ll be ready for them.
