The story of Aten King was one of the topics I'd actually paid attention to during history class.
Aten King was a direct descendant of one of the seven sons of Mikhail, the first werewolf made by the moon goddess. Aten was the first wolf to claim the Canadian lands and settle with his family and he procreated, blessing some mortals with immortality; shapeshifting between man and wolf. Those mortals who formed their own packs and are now our ancestors. After he died, a lake in his territory was named after him and his ashes were spread around the tree. It has become a tradition over the years to do the same when one of Aten's descendants
