  "I want us to promise each other something, broccoli."   "Hmmmm?"   "No secrets. We tell each other everything."   "Really, Caleb? You didn't tell me when you were dating Sheila."   "And you burnt my favorite pair of jeans for it. We're even. Now, promise me. There'll be no secrets between us, deal?"   "Deal."   Caleb (16) to Ally (15)   Ally’s POV   Secrets.   My family had fallen apart because of my secret.   My mother had spent her life trying to hide my secret. Even on her deathbed, the last words she'd spoken to me were in Italian.   "You must never let anyone find out, my little red."   I didn't have red hair, my favorite color was not red, but I'd always loved it when mama called me that.   Did she know more than she let on? Had she taken more secrets to her grave?
