"Anyways, when I was about to end Renee's life, she told me about you and her impressive skill set. So I turned her over to my side, made her a mole in the witch order and began tailing Aiden myself. He'd never have imagined I was still alive so he didn't notice. I followed him straight to your little town and overheard his argument with his cousin who'd also tracked him there. He said and I quote 'She's a child, Mara. An Alpha's daughter. The woman with yellow eyes plaguing my dreams is a girl. She looks so innocent. How can this be?' So romantic, isn't he?" She cooed and when I looked at Aiden, his head was down, as if avoiding my gaze was suddenly therapeutic. Because I was staring so hard, I saw the tear drop from his face to his pants and my heart constricted.
