The tension created by the reporters slowly faded.
For the first time in weeks, Blackwood Manor was peaceful.
The roses in the garden were in full bloom, filling the morning air with their sweet fragrance.
Elara walked into the kitchen, humming softly.
Mrs. Hayes looked up from the stove and smiled.
"Someone is in a very good mood today."
Elara laughed.
"Is it that obvious?"
Mrs. Hayes nodded.
"You've been smiling since you woke up."
Before Elara could reply, Victor wandered into the kitchen, rubbing his sleepy eyes.
"Good morning, everyone."
Mrs. Hayes handed him a cup of coffee.
"You look terrible."
"I stayed up watching football."
"You mean you stayed up eating snacks."
Victor grinned.
"That too."
He looked around.
