Chapter 9 - Blood on the Street

252 Words
The streets of the industrial district became a battlefield once again two nights later. Serafine Bellarosa had launched a desperate, large-scale offensive to reclaim lost ground. This time she brought heavier forces, vampire mercenaries, dark witches, and her most elite wolves. Luna refused to cower behind estate walls. She took the fight directly to the enemy. Dressed in reinforced black tactical wear, silver hair braided tightly, Luna moved like a beautiful storm through the rain. Kael was her constant shadow, lethal and protective. Matteo commanded a flanking team. The clash was ferocious. Luna fought with growing skill and ferocity, her wolf and magic working in harmony. When Serafine herself appeared for a direct confrontation in an abandoned factory, the two alphas clashed in a brutal display of power. “You’re nothing but a hidden mistake!” Serafine snarled as their wolf forms collided. Luna’s response was a powerful strike backed by raw magic. “I am the true heir. This city belongs to me.” With Kael’s support, she forced Serafine to retreat, badly wounded. The enemy forces broke and scattered. ---- Aftermath Back at the estate, exhausted but victorious, Luna sought comfort in Kael’s arms. Their lovemaking that night was slow and deeply intimate, a reaffirmation of life after so much death. Kael worshipped her body with patience and hunger until they both found release in each other’s arms. Yet victory came with a price. Several loyal wolves had fallen. Luna mourned them privately, steeling herself for the harder battles ahead.
