I didn’t sleep that night.
The moonlight was too bright, and the wind outside kept whispering like it knew my secrets.
I kept turning in bed, staring at the empty spot beside me — the one that used to smell like Cardan. I hated that it still made me ache. I hated that even after everything, a part of me still craved the warmth of his body and the weight of his arm around me.
But that ache quickly turned into something else. Anger.
