Chapter 2.

*Aaron* I could not believe I was back. I had not been to Woods High School in almost two years. I left shortly after freshman year to go train in a two year program that was designed to breed the perfect Alpha.  I was freshly 18 and set to inherit the Silver Moon pack once I turned 19. My father was the current Alpha, but since he was almost 60, he was itching to step down. He realized that he was going to turn the pack over to me when I was freshly out of high school so instead of training me himself, he sent me away. The school for Alphas taught me how to fight, manage and grow a pack. The program was intense, and changed me into a rough and unforgiving Alpha. The perfect Alpha. When I returned, my father thought it would be wise for me to finish up the last few weeks of high school like a normal wolf would do. I scoffed, I am not a normal wolf. I am stronger than any wolf in my pack and probably most packs in this country. At 19 years old I will be taking over the 3rd largest pack in the world. I scoffed again, I am not a normal wolf.  As I was walking in, thinking about how it was stupid for me to be here, my nose twitched towards a delicious scent. My wolf, Hercules, perked up. “MATE” he screams at me. I look around until my eyes land on a blonde she wolf. I can tell from her frantic look that she smelled me too. She is looking around and I notice her eyes still carry a hint of grey in their gold color. Today is her birthday. She cannot communicate with her wolf yet. She does not realize I am her mate. I stop gazing at her eyes and look at her. All of her. She is a beautiful she wolf, standing at about 5’3 with blonde hair that trails down her slender back. Then I realize who she is. Charlotte. The Beta’s daughter. In the two years I had been gone she had grown up.  I wanted to run to her, but wolves are not supposed to reveal themselves to their mate until both of them have shifted. I will have to wait until this evening, when the sun finally sets and she will shift.  I bolt down the hall and step outside. Hercules is whining up a storm, wanting to go back into the school to see his beautiful mate. I knew if I stayed I would not be able to avoid telling her. I didn't even want to be at school so I decided I could just go back to the pack house and work on some finances for the pack.  Once I got back to the pack I headed to my office. My wolf was yammering on about our mate. ‘She’s so beautiful. She’s a beta, she will be strong.” I chuckled to him and continued up to my office. He was right, she is beautiful. Breathtaking. “Did you smell her Hercules? I just want to wrap her in my arms and surround myself with that smell.” Hercules howled his approval with my idea. I laughed again as I sat down.  I got to work on the finances but couldn’t concentrate. My mind kept drifting back to Lottie. Even her nickname was perfect. I had heard my parents and her parents call her that from a young age. I wonder if she still goes by that or prefers her full name.  I can’t wait to ask her and find out.  I shook my head. I had to stop losing my focus. I was a disciplined Alpha for Goddess sake. I could not let my mate distract me.
